Quality Technician - AM Shift (Monticello, WI)

Schedule: 6AM - 6PM Rotating 12 hour shifts (2 days on, 2 days off, every other 3 day weekend, Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Wage: $20.11/hr. +based on experience

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for performing quality audits on packaging lines to assure that products and packaging meet established quality standards and personnel are following protocols. Other responsibilities include laboratory testing of raw and finished products that are processed through the facility. Participation and understanding of food safety programs, their corrective action, and documentation is essential.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality and packaging line checks.
  • Operate laboratory equipment and conduct chemical analysis. Report data to supervisors.
  • Verify product to master specifications.
  • Maintain food safety program documentation.
  • Gather water, whey, milk, and in-process samples.
  • Support facility compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Conduct facility Pre-Op inspections and swabs for start-up.
  • Communicate any food safety related issues to supervisor or managers.
  • Prepare DMRs.
  • Assist in QA-related trainings.
  • Assist with other QA-related responsibilities as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be able to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Possess organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to pay close attention to the details
  • Capable of following directions given; consistency is crucial to the position
  • Must have proficient manual dexterity to perform routine laboratory functions
  • 18+ years old

Education and Experience:

  • Quality Assurance experience in a food production environment
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Associates or technical degree in Food Science or food related courses is preferred
  • Specialized training in Food Technology or Laboratory Sciences is preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to push, pull and lift at minimum 50lbs.
  • On your feet for minimum 11hrs
  • Working in temperature fluctuations; hot to cold environments
