Job summary

voestalpine Roll Forming Corporation, aerospace division, seeks a Quality Technician for the 2nd shift in Shelbyville, KY. You will inspect materials, components, and in‑process items to assure conformance with customer requirements, internal plans and government specs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with process capability measurements and participate on problem-solving teams.
• Demonstrate basic computer skills and ability to submit data.
• Perform calibrations of simple mechanical or electrical gaged equipment.
• Identify quality defects and advise operators on containment policy.

Salary Range: $23.00 To $26.00 Hourly

Seeking a versatile Quality Technician to join our 2nd shift. A successful candidate will need to be able to excel in both the quality assurance and quality control aspects of the position in our Aerospace division.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Inspect material, receive components, finished products, and work-in-process to insure conformance with customer requirements, internal quality plans, and government specifications. Specific duties and job elements may vary per area supported. See attached description for details.

Earning Potential:

Starting at $23.00 and goes up to $26.00/hr. (overtime as required)

Hours/Shift:

2nd shift 3:00PM to 1:30PM Monday to Thursday ($1.00 shift differential)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.

• Assist with process capability measurements.
• Participate on problem-solving teams.
• Have a working knowledge of quality records systems.
• Ability to use and know the principles of digital calipers and digital micrometers.
• Perform basic first piece/article inspections.
• Ability to read and interpret basic voestalpline and customer drawings.
• Participate in CI Team.
• Demonstrates basic computer skills, knowledge and to submit data.
• Perform calibrations of simple mechanical or electrical controlled gages and equipment.
• Recognize quality defects and advise operator on containment policy.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
• Proficient in Microsoft products and manufacturing software
• Quality Experience in metals/manufacturing industry

• US person (as defined by EAR & ITAR requirements)

Preferred:

• Five or more years’ experience in Quality , ideally experience in Aerospace
• Quality Planning, FMEA, Control Plans, Inspects sheets experience
