Job summary

voestalpine Roll Forming Corporation in Kentucky is seeking a Robot Weld Technician to set up, program, and maintain robotic welding systems. You will support production by troubleshooting, training operators, and coordinating with Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality.

The role emphasizes safety, Lean initiatives, and continuous improvement, with opportunities to participate in training and kaizen events, and to help drive cost reduction and quality goals.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1–3 years of experience or equivalent training in setting up machines and operating specialized equipment.
  • Exposure to robotics and welding is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up robotic welding equipment and troubleshoot issues.
  • Operate and monitor robotic welders to meet production targets.
  • Provide basic robotic programming and fixture adjustments as needed.
  • Assist maintenance/engineering with troubleshooting of equipment and processes.
  • Train operators and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

Salary Range: $25.00 To $29.25 Hourly

Seeking skilled machine operators to set up, trouble-shoot robotic welding equipment and to train operators on their use.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Responsible for the setup, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of robotic welding systems. Provides technical support to Production while coordinating with Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality. Supports safety, quality, cost reduction, and Lean initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.Others as assigned.

  • Basic robotic programming (to include adding, modifying or removing position points; adding or modifying arch start files)
  • Basic fixture and tooling (to include datum adjustments and sensor replacements on tooling)
  • Welding (to include achieving RFC manual welder qualifications)
  • Basic robotic preventative maintenance (to include wire feeder, driver roll, welding torch and hose pack, wire liner, and goose neck replacements)
  • Basic operator training (to include loaders, welders and inspectors)
  • Assists Maintenance/Engineering with trouble shooting of equipment and process problems.
  • Analyzes when to call support department resources to assist operators.
  • Provides technical support problem solving expertise to Production.
  • Works cooperatively with all department areas; Quality Assurance, Engineering, Customer Service, Maintenance.
  • Aids in installation of equipment and equipment relocations.
  • Performs daily or weekly paperwork/reporting as required.
  • Aides in training/developing team members technically.
  • Participates in Lean Production program.
  • Researches and performs trials on supplies and consumables that will provide improved cost and/or quality.
  • Helps maintain consumable inventory levels.
  • Understands and follows appropriate SOPs, work instructions, and use of blueprints.
  • Promotes a positive attitude to instill confidence in other Production employees.
  • Uses safe working practices and performs work as efficiently as possible.
  • Complies with all quality and ISO standards.
  • Completes training on new and existing equipment.
  • Utilizes Lock-Out-Tag-out procedures to secure equipment.
  • (Preferred but not required) Receives training and acts as a First Responder to medical injuries.
Schedule:

6:00AM - 6:00PM Friday, Saturday & Sunday ($4.50 shift Differential)

5:00PM - 3:30AM Monday to Thursday (overtime as needed)

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience or equivalent training/education: setting up machines, operating specialized machines
Preferred experience:
  • E xposure to robotics, fixtures, and GMAW welding
  • Experience with robotics, jigs, fixtures and gas metal arc welding.
  • Experience with troubleshooting to assist maintenance department and provide technical support.
