Job summary

Atlas Copco Group, through its Ceres Technologies brand, seeks a Quality Technician for the 2nd shift in Saugerties, NY. You will perform dimensional, visual, electrical and mechanical inspections, ensuring compliance with procedures and safety standards.

Requires 3–5 years in quality/manufacturing as a technician, HS diploma or GED, ISO awareness, and strong Excel/MS Office skills. On-site role with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2nd shift experience: 2:30pm–11pm required.
• High school diploma or GED; associate degree a plus.
• 3–5 years as a technician in quality/manufacturing/test/CI.
• Familiarity with ISO standards.
• Proficient with Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Supports reduction in defects, process errors and warranty costs.
• Coordinates and reports defects using Quality Database and NCRs.
• Implements incoming inspection and submits NCR for quality issues.
• Performs in-process QC and audits service processes.
• Assists calibration activities with the Quality System Engineer.
• Interacts with engineers, project managers, and production staff.
• Identifies, documents, and processes conforming/non-conforming material.
• Performs electrical and/or mechanical inspection of materials per specs.
• Investigates discrepancies in semiconductor testing activities.
• Manages test data for customer acceptance testing (ATL) when applicable.
• Interfaces with production/engineering on inspection results.

Job description

The Quality Technician (2nd shift)is responsible for performing dimensional, visual, electrical, and mechanical inspection using standard documentation and procedures.This role will be part of the Manufacturing team and reporting to the QC Lead. Demonstrate best practice approach in the areas of safety, quality, timeliness of delivery, and efficiency.

• Supports the reduction in defective parts, process errors/inefficiencies and warranty costs
• Supports co-ordination and reporting of defects, including Quality Database and virtual job folders
• Implements incoming inspection plan, both internal and external (local source), doing incoming inspection, and submitting the NCR if there is a quality issue
• Implements in-process quality control, auditing the service process to ensure that our way can meet the requirements, submitting the NCR if there is anything out of order
• Supports the Quality System Engineer to do calibration, especially the torque wrench calibration
• Interacts with engineers, project managers, production workers, and stock personnel
• Properly identifies, documents, and processes conforming and non-conforming material
• Under minimal supervision, perform electrical and/or mechanical inspection, of incoming or outgoing materials, determining conformance to applicable specifications as indicated by the designated procedures and product specifications.
• Troubleshoots semi-conductor industry related testing activity discrepancies.
• Manage all manufacturing test data associated with customer acceptance testing (ATL) when applicable
• Interface with production/engineering personnel concerning inspection results.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

• Ability to work the 2nd shift hours of 2:30pm-11pm is required
• High school diploma or GED; associate degree a plus
• 3-5 years Prior experience as a technician role in quality, manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, test, continuous improvement, or other related disciplin
• Must have a basic understand if ISO standards
• Familiarity with mathematical concepts such as geometry, trigonometry, ratios, fractions, and proportions
• Experience with Microsoft Office products particularly Excel
• Self-directed with strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate information to a broad range of functional groups such as Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Equipment Maintenance, R&D, Safety, etc.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams
• Experience in process-driven environments

Salary: $20.50-$27.00/hour + 10% shift differential
