Job summary

MPI Engineered Technologies, located in Deerfield, WI, seeks a dedicated Machine Operator (2nd Shift) to join a growing precision metal fabrication team. The role emphasizes learning, ownership of product quality, and collaboration with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.

You will work on the production floor, inspecting materials and products, identifying defects, and helping implement improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in quality control, inspection, or related environments preferred.
  • Ability to document information accurately and work in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Identify defects and quality concerns on materials and processes.
  • Inspect raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure quality.
  • Communicate quality issues promptly and collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
  • Use inspection tools and quality systems to evaluate products and record results.
  • Support continuous-improvement efforts and corrective actions.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:
  • Starting wage of $25 per hour, more depending on experience
  • Second shift premium of $1.00, OT shift premium of $1.50
  • Straight shifts, Monday thru Friday, 2:00pm - 10:30 pm
  • Vacation time

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
  • You don't need to walk in knowing everything. You do need to be willing to learn, ask questions, speak up when something doesn't look right, and take ownership of the quality of the work happening around you.
  • Identify defects, inconsistencies, trends, and potential quality concerns.
  • Inspect raw material, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet established quality requirements.
  • Communicate quality issues promptly rather than allowing a known problem to continue through the process.
  • Work directly with Production, Engineering, and Quality to investigate problems and determine appropriate next steps.
  • Help troubleshoot defects and participate in root-cause investigations.
  • Use inspection tools, measurement equipment, and quality systems to evaluate products.
  • Accurately document inspection results and maintain required quality records.
  • Help determine whether problems are isolated issues or signs of a larger process concern.
  • Support corrective actions and follow up to ensure identified issues are addressed.
  • Participate in continuous-improvement efforts focused on reducing defects and improving consistency.
  • Reinforce quality expectations and help employees understand why those standards matter.
  • Support the development and improvement of quality procedures and processes.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in quality control, quality assurance, inspection, manufacturing, or a related environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of inspection methods and measurement tools.
  • Ability to accurately document information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:
  • Vision correctable to 20x20 in both eyes
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40-50lbs
