Job summary

Northern Gear & Machining is seeking experienced Quality Control Inspectors to collaborate with a team dedicated to delivering quality parts for OEM customers.

You will perform floor audits, inspect products with gauges and CMM, document results, calibrate gauges, and assist production with proper procedures to ensure on-time shipments.

Shift options available; 8-hour shifts with a $2/hour premium on the 2nd shift, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in Quality Control in a machined metals environment.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting to meet quality and delivery needs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Team-oriented and committed to the organization.
• Willingness to work on the shop floor with machinists in a support role.
• Detail-oriented with thoroughness in documentation and audits.
• CMM experience is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and database/order processing systems.
• Programming measuring equipment such as CMM, Keyence, Klingenberg and GMM.

Responsibilities

• Conduct floor audits with production to ensure quality and record data.
• Inspect products using gauges, CMM, scales, oscilloscope and vision systems.
• Calibrate gauges as required.
• Reconcile final inspection documentation for shipments.
• Inspect incoming raw material for quality compliance.
• Perform internal ISO 9001:2015 conformance audits.
• Audit final/dock shipments to customers.
• Assist with SOPs and Job Work Instructions.
• Ensure timeliness of 1st piece inspections.

The scope of this position is to assure consistent quality of production by validating processes, providing documentation, and assisting production employees with proper procedures.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in Quality Control function in a machined metals manufacturing environment.

• Programming computerized measuring equipment, such as CMM, Keyence, Klingenberg, GMM.

Responsibilities

• Inspect products using gauges, coordinate measuring machine, scales, oscilloscope, and vision prior to shipment.
• Gage Calibration.
• Reconcile final inspection documentation for shipments.
• Inspect incoming raw material.
• Conduct Internal Audits to determine conformance to ISO9001:2015 standards.
• Conduct final/dock audits of product shipping to customers.
• Assist with the implementation of SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) and JWI's (Job Work Instructions).
• Ensure timeliness on 1st piece inspections.

Pay range based on experience. $2 per hour shift premium.

Schedule

• 8‑hour shifts.
• 1st Shift - 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.
• 2nd Shift - 3:30 pm - 12:00 am ($2 per hour shift premium)
• Monday to Friday.
• Overtime available and optional.

Ability To Commute/relocate

• Muskego, WI 53150: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required).

Experience

• Manufacturing: 1 year (Preferred).
