Job summary

Dee Zee, Inc. is seeking a Quality Technician to perform inspections for raw materials, in-process parts and finished goods to assure quality standards are met.

You will support production by following BOMs, drawings and work instructions, and you will assist in identifying issues and communicating them to the appropriate personnel; you will also help ensure calibration of tools and complete related reports.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of quality experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills and a methodical approach.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
  • Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, drawings and control plans.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Responsibilities

  • Perform audits on parts, finished goods and process documentation for conformance.
  • Support BOM, drawings, work instructions and operator instructions (QIS).
  • Assist in identifying problems on the production floor and communicate to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist production in adhering to inspection standards and making decisions based on criteria.
  • Ensure tools, gages and fixtures are calibrated and in good working condition.
  • Compile information, including photos, related to material complaint notices (MCNs).
  • Complete reports on parts, finished goods, and process documentation.
  • Complete receiving inspections on incoming raw materials and supplied components.
  • Participate in containment activities within the problem-solving process for customer and internal concerns.

Job description

Position Summary:

The Quality Technician will conduct inspections to determine quality of raw materials, in-process parts and finished goods.

Accountabilities:
  • Perform audits on parts, finished goods and process documentation reviewing each for conformance.
  • Support production personnel in the performance of following the bill of material (BOM), drawings, work instructions and operator instructions (QIS).
  • Support production with resolving issues or communicating issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in identifying problems on the production floor and address or communicate to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist production in adhering to inspection standards and making decisions based on the defined criteria.
  • Assist team in ensuring all tools, gages and fixtures are calibrated and in good working condition.
  • Compile any necessary information, including photos, related to issuing of material complaint notices (MCNs) for communicating issues with supplied items.
  • Complete applicable reports on parts, finished goods, and process documentation.
  • Complete receiving inspections on incoming raw materials and supplied components.
  • Participate in containment activities within the problem-solving process for customer and internal concerns.
