Position Summary

The Quality Technician reports directly to the Quality Engineer and plays a critical role in ensuring all company products meet internal and external quality standards prior to market release. This is achieved through proactive monitoring and prevention of quality issues on the manufacturing floor using a patrol-based approach.

  • Receives direction and guidance from the Quality Engineer.
  • Maintains open communication with the Assistant Plant Manager, Production Leads, and Operators, fostering a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Identifies product or process discrepancies and promptly escalates these issues to the Quality Engineer and Production Leads for resolution.
  • Prepares Corrective Action Requests as required to address identified issues.
  • Performs line process audits to verify proper use of production documentation and adherence to established procedures.
  • Prepares Quality Alerts and conducts training sessions as necessary to reinforce compliance and best practices.
  • Reviews and reports significant quality issues, including shop floor concerns, during Town Hall meetings.
  • Monitors internal production and inspection processes to ensure timely and accurate execution of routine inspections.
  • Observes production line changeovers and verifies product and process accuracy.
  • Spends approximately 80% of time actively monitoring the shop floor to identify potential errors.
  • Allocates approximately 20% of time to data logging and generating documentation of findings.
  • Prepares and presents statistically relevant data to communicate and escalated issues and risks effectively.
  • Manages the non-conforming material locations in assigned factory locations to ensure prompt reconciliation of non-conforming material.
  • Safety: Maintains adherence to all safety protocols while performing job duties.
  • Personal Time Management – stays on task to ensure timely completion of all tasks assigned; limit social interaction to maintain high performance in an environment where priorities change quickly
  • Technical Skills- Continually assess own strengths and weaknesses; actively pursue training and development opportunities and latest technologies; Strive to continuously strengthen knowledge and skills. Shares expertise with others.
  • Customer Service- Works closely with Customer Service providing internal documentation on process execution. Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments.

Required Qualifications

Education: Minimum of a two-year technical degree or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment.
