Job summary

McDonald Plastic Molding, a subsidiary of A.Y. McDonald Industries, is seeking candidates for a production support role.

You will review travelers, prepare finished goods for shipment, and operate a forklift to move products in a safe, organized environment. Ideal applicants have a high school diploma or GED and up to one year of related experience, along with basic reading/writing skills, simple math ability, and physical stamina to lift up to 55 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, with 6 months to 1 year related experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write basic notes.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic using money, weights, and measures.
• Physical ability to stand/walk, lift up to 55 pounds, and handle repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Review job traveler to determine items to be transferred to and from production.
• Prepare finished goods for shipment with proper identification as directed.
• Operate forklift to move product as assigned.
• Label information on boxes or skids as directed.
• Loads and operates auxiliary equipment as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Participate in-group and individual training and maintain a safe working environment.
• Contribute to strategic planning for growth and success of the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review job traveler to determine items to be transferred to and from production.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months to one‑year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
