Job summary

Fralock is seeking a Quality Technician II to join our onsite team in Chatsworth, CA. The role supports the Quality Engineering group by conducting First Article Inspections, processing NCRs, and handling customer returns while ensuring compliance in regulated environments for Aerospace, Medical, and Semiconductor customers.

The position offers full-time hours, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with an hourly range of $23.00–$29.00 DOE and a benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required with related experience preferred.
  • Mastercam or CNC programming certificate highly desired.
  • Experience with ISO 9001/AS9100/ISO 13485 standards is preferred.

Job Summary

The Quality Technician II supports the Quality Engineering group through processing First Article Inspection (FAI), selective inspection, analysis and processing of internal Nonconformance Reporting (NCR) material, customer returns (RMA), and other administrative and logistical support duties. This role serves as a critical quality gate within regulated manufacturing environments supporting Aerospace, Defense, Medical, and Semiconductor customers.

Key Responsibilities

Under general supervision, the Quality Inspector is responsible for:

  • Generate non-conformance reports and participate in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) program.
  • Prepare, document, and communicate quality procedures as required.
  • Accept or reject materials and products.
  • Analyze and report findings of customer returns (RMA) and internal rejections (NCR).
  • Monitor operations to ensure that they meet production standards.
  • Operate electronic inspection equipment and software.
  • Remove all materials/products that fail to meet customer requirements and/or specifications.
  • Document results of inspections using First Article Report AS9102, Fralock Dimensional Report, copies of CMM report or written results in the job order.
  • Document and elevate to respective departments when product is non-conforming.
  • Utilizing inspection tools such as CMM, Keyence, calipers, micrometers, and templates.
  • Schedule supplier calibrations and perform in-house calibrations. Ensure calibrations meet Fralock requirements and maintain records in GageTrack.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills

Must have excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to manage and solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized and complex situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings in accordance with GD&T standards.
  • Strong knowledge of quality processes within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Suite for tracking, reporting, and data management.
  • Must have knowledge to apply complex use of databases/spreadsheets.
  • Strong knowledge in using hand-held inspection tools and templates.
  • Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing methods and related systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with individuals at all levels.
Preferred Skills
  • Prior experience with CMM inspection and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Prior experience with ISO 9001 Standards and AS9102
  • Root Cause Analysis, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, experience utilizing Minitab.
Education Requirements
  • High School Degree or General Education Degree; or three (3) to five (5) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mastercam or CNC programming certificate highly desired.
  • Experience with ISO 900, AS9100, and/or ISO 13485 Standards.
  • Three (3) + years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent use of hands for handling equipment and tools.
  • Ability to perform similar operations and tasks for 6-8 hours.
  • Ability to sit and stand for 6 to 8 hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to bend and reach for 6 to 8 hours.
Working Conditions
  • Work performed indoors in a temperature controlled environment frequently.
  • Required use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, and safety‑toed footwear.
  • While performing the duties of this job, will regularly be exposed to moving high-speed machinery and mechanical parts. Will occasionally be exposed to machine oils and hazardous materials.
