This position requires access to information controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the successful candidate must be a "U.S. person" as defined in the ITAR and EAR (which generally means (i) be a citizen or national of theUnited States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or (iii) have been admittedto the United States as a refugee, or have been granted asylum, as specified under applicable law.

Main Functions

Quality Inspector III performs advanced inspections and acts as the quality owner for product flow through inspection, ensuring parts are dispositioned, released, and communicated in a timely manner to support customer requirements and on-time shipment.

Typical Duties

  • Perform in-process and final inspections to drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
  • Interpret blueprints and GD&T; verify dimensions using CMM, Keyence IM systems, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other calibrated equipment
  • Complete and maintain inspection records, including AS9102 first article reports, dimensional reports, CMM results, ballooned drawings, photos, and QMS/ERP entries
  • Identify, tag, document, and coordinate disposition of nonconforming material with Quality, Engineering, Production, Receiving Inspection, and Purchasing
  • Release and route inspected parts to the next approved operation and communicate inspection status, priorities, holds, and disposition requirements
  • Coordinate parts cleaning and secondary operations as required, including performing these activities when needed
  • Monitor work-in-process held in Quality; elevate aging, blocked, or shipment-critical parts and coordinate recovery actions
  • Resolve inspection, documentation, material-status, and workflow roadblocks with Production, Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, and Quality leadership
  • Verify required inspections, acceptance records, and customer-specific documentation are complete before parts advance or ship
  • Prepare and present customer quality reports, first article results, nonconformance status, corrective-action updates, and supporting data
  • Communicate quality constraints, priorities, and recovery actions during production and shipment reviews
  • Provide day-to-day technical guidance to inspectors on methods, priorities, documentation, and escalation requirements
  • Support containment, material review, root cause analysis, corrective actions, audits, and continuous improvement
  • Maintain inspection equipment and the work area in a clean, organized, and calibration-compliant condition
  • Other duties as assigned, including working in other departments

Required Skills

Knowledge in blueprint reading and geometrical tolerances; use of hand-held inspection tools and templates

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including customer-facing reporting and clear escalation of priorities and roadblocks.
  • Proficient in GD&T
  • Familiarity with measurement tools and inspection equipment (CMM, Keyence IM systems, calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, urgency, and ability to prioritize work and coordinate part flow.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficient with CMM inspection, Statistical Process Control (SPC), First Article Inspection reporting, and customer-specific quality documentation.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and/or ISO 13485 standards, including nonconformance control, corrective action, and audit support.

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible quality inspection experience in a controlled manufacturing environment, including complex inspection, quality documentation, cross-functional issue resolution, and production workflow support. Experience with technical ceramics and ceramic mating surfaces may substitute for part of this requirement, depending on experience.
