Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a quality inspector to test and inspect products at various stages of the production process, ensuring reliability and conformity with part numbers. You will perform incoming material inspections, final audits, and record data using control plans.

This role involves identifying non-conformances, generating reports, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives, including data collection and process validation. Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:15 PM; location Zeeland, MI, US.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 1–2 years related experience.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and leadership techniques.
  • Familiarity with control plans and production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Performs incoming material inspection.
  • Performs final audit inspections on finished goods, at set frequencies according to the part number Control plan.
  • Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations for existing standards.
  • Prepares and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on product characteristics as defined by the part number Control Plan.
  • Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into a computer for analysis.
  • Performs daily round rover inspections at various stages of the production processes & reports all non-compliances, and includes the authority to stop any process of which does not conform.
  • Performs internal systems audits and prepares report.
  • Participates in problem solving activities as assigned.
  • Manages control of the Non-conforming material hold area, including the containment, disposition, coordination and implementation of work instructions for all sort activities.
  • Supports Continuous Improvement activities as assigned, including data collection, and the measuring of parts.
  • Performs costs of quality data collection and reporting.
  • Manages the sorting and packing activities of all in-process sorts.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Pay Range: $17 - $25/hr

Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:15 PM

Summary: Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and complies and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products

Requirements

Education and/or Experience: High school degree or equivalent; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Qualifications:Knowledge quality systems and leadership techniques; Knowledge of common engineering operations and methods
