Eaton's ES AMER ESS division in Richmond, VA is seeking a Quality Technician - 1st Shift at Oakley Ct site. The role focuses on inspecting parts, identifying non-conformances, and supporting quality processes to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.

The position pays $22.71 per hour with benefits including health, vacation, holidays, and opportunities for cross-training, advancement, and overtime. High School Diploma or GED is required and applicants must reside within the local area.

Responsibilities

• Inspect parts and document results; quarantine Non-Conforming (NC) parts.
• Determine root cause of non-conforming parts.
• Verify First Article Inspections (FAI) on all lines.
• Conduct process and quality audits as scheduled.
• Prepare and present inspection results using MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
• Create Quality Alerts and notify operators of issues.
• Investigate non-conforming product and apply problem-solving techniques.
• Support pre-production quality planning and training of staff.
• Assist Manufacturing Engineering with machine capability studies.

What you’ll do:

Position Overview:

In this function you will:

• Perform part and product inspections, document the results, identify and quarantine Non-Conforming (NC) parts
• Determine the Root Cause of Non-Conforming Parts
• Verify First Article Inspection (FAI) of all production lines
• Perform Control and Process audits as scheduled
• Report inspections and audits using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
• Create Quality Alerts and notify operators of quality issues
• Investigate Non-Conforming Product, use problem-solving techniques to resolve issues
• Contribute to pre-production quality planning, including developing Quality Assembly documents, attending product and process reviews and technical training of production personnel
• Support Manufacturing Engineering in machine capability studies for new and existing machines
• Support Gage Calibration System
• Comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required from an accredited institution

No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Richmond, VA facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
• Associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering technology or other technical degree
• ASQ Quality Technician Certification
• 3 to 5 years of work experience as a Quality Technician, preferably in the Power industry
• Six Sigma and Lean certifications and/or experience
• Statistical Process Control
• Understanding of delta-wye 3 phases transformer and resistive load bank technology

Position Criteria:

• Individual may be required to sit, stand and walk regularly
• Individual must be able to lift up to 50 pounds throughout work shift .
• Individual may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, push and/or pull.
