Job summary

Romark Logistics in Irving, TX is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Specialist to uphold GMP standards and ensure finished goods meet customer specifications. You will perform hourly quality checks, inspect packaging, read BOM/IDM docs, and support audits across co-pack and line sanitation processes.

The role requires attention to detail, basic math, and proficiency with MS Office; overtime may be required to meet production needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in QA, manufacturing, food production, or related field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail for documentation and data entry.

Responsibilities

  • Performs hourly quality checks to ensure products meet in-plant instructions and quality standards.
  • Inspects packaging materials and donor candy for conformance and identifies non-conformities.
  • Reads BOM/IDM docs, manages batch codes and re-packs, and assists with product presentation setup.
  • Conducts GMP audits and supports sanitation and line verification activities.
  • Completes QA forms and line-set up verifications; reports issues to management.

We are committed to providing a safe, clean, and supportive work environment where every team member is empowered to speak up and work safely.1st Shift: 7:30am – 3:30pm, Monday - FridayWhat You’ll Do:The duties and responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Specialist include, but are not limited to, the following:Production CompliancePerforms hourly quality checks using mobile devices to ensure finished products meet customer in-plant instructions, quality standards, and Finished Goods Compliance GS1 including weight accuracy / weight tolerance – MAV violations, bag integrity, label accuracy, and identification of unusual odors or discoloration.Understand and apply scale adjustment rules.Understand and follow the Quality Monitoring Matrix (QMM).Conducts inspections of packaging materials and donor candy to ensure specifications and quality requirements are met, identify and reject materials that do not meet established standards.Read and interpret customer Bill of Materials (BOM) and Integrated Display Model (IDM) documentation including understanding batch codes, managing re-packs, concessions, and building product displays while performing all tasks required to ensure accurate setup and presentation.Understand donor inventory requirements by reading batch codes, identifying item numbers, interpreting donor allocation sheets, determining best-before dates, and identifying and handling non-conformities in accordance with company procedures.Co-Pack Audits and VerificationsComplete GMP audits as required.Utilize the Bagger Sanitation Checklist, Line Sanitation Verification form, Line Set-up Verification form (Bagger and Flex), Sanitation Audit, and Glass and Brittle Plastics Audit to ensure operational and quality standards are met.Flex lines and Production Bagger MachinesPerform conformance verification activities and complete all required quality assurance documentation, including Co-Pack QA Form Parts 1 and 2, bagger line product and packaging process check, bagger count check, and weight control chart forms.Completes End-of-Shift form, activities, and reporting to confirm compliance with quality and operational standards.Safety and Quality ComplianceProvides support in researching, documenting, and resolving QA issues and quality discrepancies by promptly reporting concerns to management and following established QA issue processes.Adhere to company safety, quality, and productivity standards at all times.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), 6S principles, OSHA standards, and Just in Time practices.Follow all internal policies and procedures related to administrative and operational processes.Team Collaboration & FlexibilityWork independently while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party sanitation vendors to resolve challenges and achieve shared operational goals.Be adaptable and open to change, with the ability to quickly learn new systems or processes.Assist with special projects, provide coverage for colleagues as needed, and take on additional responsibilities based on evolving business requirementsWhat We’re Looking For:The skills and qualifications required for Quality Assurance Specialist are outlined below:High school diploma or GED preferred.Previous quality assurance, manufacturing, food production, or related experience preferred.Strong attention to detail for tasks such as documentation and data entry.Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) required.Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook), and QA applications.Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to complete tasks efficiently and on schedule.Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of maintaining a professional demeanor when interacting with colleagues and on-site visitors.Must be able to work independently and prioritize tasks based on business needs.Willingness to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, based on business needs.What We OfferCompetitive hourly pay + overtime opportunitiesConsistent schedulesGrowth and advancement opportunitiesSupportive leadership and mentorshipA workplace where your effort is recognizedApply today and become part of the ROMARKABLE team!
