Job summary

Global Power Components is seeking a Quality Technician to perform day-to-day inspection, document quality issues, and present data in a statistical format. The role requires interpreting engineering blueprints to ensure accuracy on parts and assemblies on the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities include inspecting parts (30%), inspecting assemblies (50%), and processing data (20%), with reports guiding training and process improvements; OT may be available for both shifts.

Qualifications

• High attention to detail and ability to follow directions.

• Strong blueprint-reading skills and basic math.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform precise measurements.
• Quality assurance experience and engineering technician background preferred.

• 1st Shift: 5am - 1:30pm CT (Monday to Friday) – eligible for OT
• 2nd Shift: 4pm – 12:30am CT (Monday to Friday) – eligible for OT

Description:

Due to company growth, we are seeking a Quality Technician for day-to-day inspection, documenting quality issues per our process and presenting data in a statistical format. Due to the nature of this position, a qualified candidate must be able to interpret Engineering Blueprints as every aspect of inspecting our product relies on the blueprints to ensure accuracy. Breakdown of daily activities is generally as follows: 30% Part inspection (on manufacturing floor) 50% Assembly inspection (on manufacturing floor) 20% Processing and analysis of data Candidates should be aware that the majority of their time will be spent on the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities:

The position's main responsibility is inspection and documentation of parts and assemblies. Once the data is collected, it will be turned into reports that would be used to develop training and/or process improvement strategies. Secondary tasks could fill up all or part of a business day at times. These tasks could vary greatly in day-to-day activities. Examples could include discussing issues with engineers, calling vendors, updating SOP's, or addressing anything that is out of the ordinary or with which there is an issue.

Requirements:

• Ability to follow directions is extremely important and then to follow through in a timely, accurate manner
• Strong attention to detail is extremely important
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel (write reports in Word, create and use spreadsheets in Excel for analysis)
• Basic math skills necessary to include fractions and decimals
• Strong ability in blueprint reading
• Ability to read and use a tape measure
• Possess mechanical ability/aptitude
• Prior experience using Pareto Charts preferred
• Prior experience in quality assurance preferred
• Engineering Technician experience very helpful **
