Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform regular quality assessments on incoming materials and outgoing products.
• Reject products not meeting quality expectations.
• Read prints, layouts, and specifications to understand requirements.
• Measure dimensions and compare final product to specifications.
• Calibrate Faro machines and tools; coordinate with Quality Manager on calibration dates.
• Calibrate weld, drill, and recut fixtures prior to production use.
• Notify Quality Manager of route sheet or documentation modifications.
• Conduct clean tests in the Clean Lab.
• Assist Production with complex parts and generate Faro reports.
• Educate production team on quality concerns to improve product excellence.
• Resolve quality-related issues promptly.

Job Title : Quality Technician

Reports to: Supervisor of designated department

FLSA Status: NON-EXEMPT

Schedule: Monday through Thursday (6:00am – 4:30pm); extended hours may be required to support business needs

Primary duties and responsibilities:

• Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping.
• Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
• Read prints, layouts, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
• Measure or Faro product dimensions examine functionality and compare the final product to specifications.
• Calibrate Faro machines and all other tooling in all facilities and communicate any external processes/calibration dates with Quality manager.
• Calibrate all internal and external weld, drill, and recut fixtures prior to being used within production.
• Notify Quality Manager with any modifications needed on route sheets or any other documentation.
• Perform clean tests at the Clean Lab.
• Assist Production with any difficult parts or assemblies that need a Faro report generated.
• Teach the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence.
• Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.

Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge :

• High School diploma or equivalent field.
• Certification in quality is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills
• Commitment to safety
• Commitment and supportive of ISO 9001:2015 Standard and Certification, and IATF 16949.
• Ability to provide feedback both orally and in writing
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good math and technical skills.
• Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques.

Physical environment/work conditions:

• The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day.
