Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Quality Technician for the 3rd shift at our Oakleys Dr location in Richmond, VA. The role involves inspecting parts to ensure compliance with quality standards, identifying non-conforming items, and documenting results.

You will support audits, root-cause analysis, and pre-production quality planning while collaborating with manufacturing engineering and calibration activities. The position offers a $22.71 hourly rate plus a $2 shift differential, sign-on bonus, and benefits

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 3–5 years of experience as a Quality Technician
• ASQ Quality Technician Certification preferred
• Six Sigma and Lean certifications/experience
• Ability to read and interpret drawings/schematics
• Statistical Process Control knowledge

Responsibilities

• Inspect parts and products and document results; quarantine NC parts
• Determine root cause of non-conforming parts
• Verify First Article Inspection (FAI) on all production lines
• Conduct control and process audits as scheduled
• Report inspections using PowerPoint, Excel and Word
• Create Quality Alerts and notify operators of issues
• Investigate non-conforming product and apply problem-solving techniques
• Support pre-production quality planning and training of personnel
• Assist Manufacturing Engineering with machine capability studies
• Support Gage Calibration System
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies

Only candidates in the immediate geographical area (50 mile radius) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred Qualifications:• Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics • Associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering technology or other technical degree • ASQ Quality Technician Certification preferred • 3 to 5 years of work experience as a Quality Technician, preferably in the Power industry • Six Sigma and Lean certifications and/or experience • Statistical Process Control • Understanding of delta-wye 3 phases transformer and resistive load bank technologySkills:Position Criteria:• Individual may be required to sit, stand and walk regularly • Individual must be able to lift up to 50 pounds throughout work shift .• Individual may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, push and/or pull.
