AmSpec Group in New Orleans is looking for a laboratory technician responsible for performing tests on samples for quantitative analysis and quality control. Key duties include maintaining laboratory equipment and documenting test results accurately.
The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma with some college credits preferred, and must possess basic computer, mathematics, and science skills. Work is primarily in a laboratory environment with safety-sensitive conditions.
Responsible for performing tests on samples for purposes such as quantitative analysis, quality control, and process control as well as general maintenance of laboratory equipment and physical maintenance of the laboratory.
Work is primarily performed in a laboratory with occasional trips to collect or deliver samples. The employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. AmSpec Services provides product information, training, engineering controls, and personal protective equipment in an effort to protect employees from exposure to potentially harmful levels of those materials. Employees are required to read product information, use available engineering controls, follow guidelines presented during training, and be able to wear and use appropriate protective equipment, including respiratory protective equipment, as may be required by the work environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
