Key Responsibilities
Working hours: 2nd Shift: 6:30 PM – 3:30 AM
Quality Inspection & Testing
- Perform inspections and audits of incoming, in-process, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Conduct dimensional, functional, and layout inspections as required.
- Perform product conformance testing and validation activities, including H-point and effort testing.
- Conduct daily Statistical Process Control (SPC) checks and monitor process performance.
- Perform measurements and quality evaluations for both internal and customer requirements.
- Conduct Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (Gage R&R) studies and support Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities.
- Perform color vision testing for employees when required.
Quality Systems & Documentation
- Maintain accurate quality records, reports, logs, and documentation.
- Prepare and maintain quality display boards and visual management tools.
- Ensure all quality documentation remains compliant with company and customer requirements.
- Coordinate calibration activities and maintain calibration records for gauges, laboratory equipment, and testing devices.
- Review and understand customer-specific quality requirements and ensure compliance.
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
- Support Quality Engineers and production teams in responding to line-side quality concerns and customer issues.
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action activities using structured problem-solving methods such as 5 Why and 8D.
- Partner with manufacturing personnel to resolve product and process quality concerns.
- Collaborate with customers and suppliers to investigate and resolve quality-related issues.
- Support pilot builds and new product launches through: Bill of Materials (BOM) reviews, Build monitoring, Documentation of issues, Quality validation checks, Customer submission requirements.
Safety & Teamwork
- Actively support a safe and healthy work environment by following all safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Participate in safety initiatives, audits, ergonomic committees, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement activities.
- Contribute to achieving plant safety, environmental, and sustainability objectives.
- Maintain professional working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Support training initiatives and work overtime as needed to meet business objectives.
Qualifications Required
Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of Quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of quality tools, inspection techniques, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with formal problem-solving methodologies such as: 5 Why Analysis 8D Problem Solving.
- Strong auditing and inspection skills.
- Excellent communication and analytical abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Technical Skills
- Understanding of quality management systems and manufacturing quality standards.
- Ability to read and interpret: Safety procedures, Technical instructions, Engineering and quality documentation.
- Experience using precision measurement tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
- Ability to create and maintain quality reports and documentation.
- Working knowledge of calibration processes and measurement systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to operate inspection, measuring, and testing equipment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move products weighing up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and support multiple production areas as needed.
