Job summary

LifeSpice Ingredients LLC in Lowell, Indiana is seeking a Quality Technician to ensure proprietary blends meet quality and regulatory specifications.

You will work with the Quality & Regulatory Team to enter results, prepare COAs, manage holds/releases, and coordinate with internal/external departments. This role requires 1–2+ years in quality or the food industry, strong attention to detail, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; occasional travel to Chicago.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of experience in quality or the food industry.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and effective communication skills.
• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a science-related field preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand in a lab setting with exposure to various food ingredients and allergens.

Responsibilities

• Enter results and create quality documentation for finished seasoning blends including Certificates of Analysis (COA).
• Manage hold and release of finished seasonings and raw materials.
• Communicate with multiple internal and external departments.
• Travel to blending partner for first-time production runs.
• Assess finished seasoning blends for quality to meet specifications.
• Facilitate sensory evaluation.
• Assist with product quality investigations and maintain sample retain area.
• Occasional travel to Chicago corporate office.

LifeSpice Ingredients, a fast-growing, entrepreneurial, international food company has an opening for a Quality Technician in Lowell, IN.

The Quality Technician will ensure that LifeSpice proprietary blends meet all quality and regulatory requirements including chemical, physical, and microbiological specifications.

As a Quality Technician at LifeSpice, you will:

• Work directly with the Quality & Regulatory Team ensuring daily tasks are completed on time and in full, including:
• entering results and creating quality documentation for finished seasoning blends including Certificates of Analysis (COA)
• managing hold and release of finished seasonings and raw materials
• communicating with multiple internal and external departments
• traveling to blending partner for first time production runs
• assessing finished seasoning blends for quality acceptability to assure product meets specifications
• facilitating sensory evaluation
• assisting with product quality investigationsmaintaining organization of sample retain area
• Occasional travel to Chicago corporate office

You have:

• 1-2+ years of experience in quality or the food industry
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and effective communication skills
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) a plus
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
• High school diploma required
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a science-related field preferred
• Ability to participate in daily sensory panels, with no food allergies or taste or smell limitations
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods in a lab setting with exposure to various food ingredients and allergens
