Job summary

Adient US LLC is seeking a quality-oriented lab technician to support raw materials, in-process goods, and finished goods testing in a polyurethane quality lab. The role focuses on following customer test methods, data accuracy, and adherence to lab SOPs.

The candidate will perform physical property testing, maintain testing data integrity, and participate in ISO-related system improvement activities. Shift is 10pm–6:30am, with responsibilities across safety, housekeeping, and quality planning.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work 3rd shift (10pm–6:30am).
• Experience in quality lab or material testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand all customer standardized test method documents.
• Perform physical property testing within corporate polyurethane quality lab according to the customer standardized documents.
• Maintain, control, and ensure accuracy of test data.
• Monitor and ensure testing is performed within Temperature and Humidity control.
• Update testing matrix daily to note completed testing.
• Maintain 5S and housekeeping in the lab area daily.
• Maintain sample and test fixture inventories.
• Follow all lab safety practices.
• Participate in ISO 16949 & A2LA (ISO 17025) system improvement activities, including audits and Proficiency Testing.
• Participate in Gage R & R studies on lab equipment.
• Participate in equipment verification.
• Participate in Quality Planning meetings when required.
• Be a self - starter; to complete all work orders in a timely manner.
• Abide by all EH&S requirements.
• Comply with company and departmental rules, policies and practices.
• Communicate with team members and supervision on all issues, concerns, updates, etc.
• Perform all roles & responsibilities as defined by the BOS policies & procedures.
• Perform other duties deemed necessary by the Quality Engineer/Manager or UTC Manager

Summary

Checks, analyzes, and inspects the raw materials, work in process goods, and finished goods by following guidelines to ensure procedures and standards are met. Identifies issues, and recommends preventative and corrective action to mitigate future risk. Performs periodic audits to ensure the achievement of quality standards.
