Job summary

Hypertherm Associates is seeking an experienced Quality Technician for the OMAX Waterjet team in Kent, WA. The role focuses on inspections, gauge calibration, audits, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You will apply quality tools and collaborate with internal customers while progressing in a mentorship-driven environment. Onsite schedule is Monday–Friday, with competitive pay and a strong benefits program designed for long-term growth.

Qualifications

  • Holds a high school diploma or GED and is eligible to work in the US.
  • Demonstrates competence in quality procedures, measurement systems, and print reading.
  • Willingness to pursue ASQ quality certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform measurement, inspection, gauge tracking, calibrations, audits, and troubleshooting.
  • Communicate effectively with internal customers to relay quality information.
  • Apply basic quality tools (5 Why, Pareto, Check Sheets) in daily tasks.
  • Use mathematics, metrology, calibration, and quality principles in inspections.
  • Support others with gauge/instrument use, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Participate in lean events and continuous improvement activities such as kaizen and 3P.
  • Follow control of non-conforming material processes.

Our Waterjet team at OMAX is looking for an experienced Quality Technician to perform inspections, audits, gauge use/calibration, and troubleshooting activities. To be successful in this role you should work well in a fast-paced environment, have the ability to quickly learn/adapt and possess good written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform activities such as measurement, inspection, gauge tracking, calibrations, audits, and troubleshooting
  • Communicate effectively to internal customers
  • Understand and apply basic quality tools (5Why, Pareto Analysis, Check Sheets, etc.)
  • Perform tasks using basic skills in mathematics, metrology, calibration, and quality
  • Provide support to other Associates in gauge/instrument use, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Be an active part of continuous improvement activities such as kaizen, 3P, and other lean events
  • Perform tasks following the control of non-conforming material process

Who You Are and What You Bring:

  • 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated competence in the use of quality procedures, measurement systems, and print reading
  • Accurate and well-organized work, good documentation, attention to detail, and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Comfortable using computers, including Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively when relaying technical information
  • Desire and drive to obtain ASQ quality certifications
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively in a team environment

Experience That Sets You Apart:

  • CMM/PCDMIS programming/troubleshooting experience is heavily preferred
  • CQT or CQI Certification
  • Proficiency with interpreting standards (Y14.5M)
  • Ability to train and mentor others
  • Gagetrak
  • Minitab
  • Solidworks
  • 6-sigma/Lean certifications

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7a-3p (roughly - hours flex based on business need)
