- Test and inspect products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
- Use gauges and other devices to verify conformity to standards of product.
- Suggest or recommend changes regarding special requirements as needed. Assists in implementing a total quality management program and/or trains others on total quality management.
- Obtain samples of raw materials/finished products
- Test all final products for conformance to specifications
- Enter all results in database
- Maintain clean/safe work area
- Responsible for all lab results and the quality of work performed
- Identifies critical points in the manufacturing process and defines sampling procedure
- Interacts regularly with engineering, manufacturing, and service functions to establish quality standards for raw material, work in process, and finished products
- Complies with company policies and the Code of Conduct Statement
- Adheres to general and job specific safety, environmental, and quality guidelines/procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Education/Experience - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least two years of experience in a laboratory or quality control area required
- Must have complete knowledge on how to perform the following:
- pH (whether material is acid or base)
- Carbon (% loss of ignition)
- Ash percent/description
- Volatile test
- Screen analysis
- Ability to use a statistically based sampling plan
- Incoming raw material analysis (I.R.M.A.)
- ISO 9001 support by keeping all manuals and procedures up-to-date

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

- Incoming raw material analysis (I.R.M.A.)
- Sample production materials
- Tagging materials
- ISO 9001 support by keeping all manuals and procedures up-to-date
