Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Quality Technician to ensure product quality by collecting samples and performing tests on raw materials, in-process materials, finished products and competitors' products.

The role includes testing, record-keeping, and reporting results to management, with opportunities to lead junior staff and assist with customer service issues. A strong emphasis on safety and adherence to PPE protocols is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates/Technical Degree preferred.
• Field of Study: Chemistry or related science recommended.
• 0–1 year of work experience in quality testing preferred.
• Less than 10% travel.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples and perform quality control testing; provide results verbally or in writing to management and production staff.
• Examine laboratory/core samples to determine physical and chemical properties using instruments and calculations.
• Record, analyze, certify and summarize findings; maintain records of test results.
• Assist with customer service issues; troubleshoot problems or complaints.
• Collect samples from various areas of the plant as required.
• Provide leadership or guidance to less experienced Tech QC/Inspectors on complex tasks; coordinate repairs and training.
• Communicate problems in operations and deviations from standards.
• Promote health, safety and environmental policies in all work areas.

Job description

About the Role:

The Quality Technician position provides a quality product to the customer by collecting samples and performing tests on raw materials, materials in process, finished products and competitive products.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Collects samples and performs accurate quality control testing to ensure product quality. Provides verbal and/or written test results to management and production staff in a timely manner. Assists manager with customer service issues as directed.
• Examines laboratory and/or core samples to determine their physical and chemical properties. Uses a variety of instruments and calculations to determine conformity. Performs various tests to make certain that samples meet required standards.
• Records, analyzes, certifies and prepares summaries of findings. Maintains records of test results using various databases.
• Assists with customer service issues as required. Troubleshoots to determine reason for problems or complaint.
• Collects samples from various areas of the plant as required.
• Provides leadership and/or guidance to less experienced Tech QC and/or Inspectors on more complex assignments. Coordinates work to ensure that repairs are completed in a timely manner and according in order of priority. May train new employees.
• Communicates problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violations of policy or law.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

What We Are Looking For:

• Required Education: High School Diploma/GED
• Additional Education Preferred: Associates/Technical Degree
• Field of Study Preferred: Chemistry or other science related field
• Required Work Experience: 0-1 year
• Travel Requirements: Less than 10%

• Excellent math skills at the algebra level.

• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
