Job summary

Pentagon Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Quality Technician to execute quality controls, audits, and risk management for materials, equipment, and processes.

The role emphasizes adherence to procedures, SOPs, and site compliance, with focus on quality data and audit readiness. The position is on second shift (M-F, 2-10:30pm) and requires basic MS Office skills, SPC understanding, and the ability to read internal docs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2-year college diploma in a tech area or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and shop floor control software.
  • 40 hours of HAZWOPR training a plus.
  • Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
  • Must read, comprehend, and generate internal documents (work orders, SOPs, logs).
  • Knowledge of algebra and geometry; understand units of measurement.
  • Ability to work on both Mac and PC operating systems.
  • Strict safety training and adherence required.

Responsibilities

  • Implement QMS procedures, processes, and tools at the site level.
  • Perform internal audits including QMS, ISO, 6S, and POR.
  • Execute inspection and quality checks for materials and finished goods.
  • Collect and store quality records per SOPs.
  • Manage data collection for calibration and preventive maintenance (PM).
  • Develop and maintain SOP documentation and records for audit readiness.
  • Disseminate quality metrics, reports, and alerts to site teams.
  • Assist with data collection for MSA and Gage R&R studies.
  • Drive CAPA closures with stakeholders.
  • Support continual improvement projects related to quality, safety, and productivity.

Working under direct supervision, this role focuses on high-fidelity adherence to established procedures, policies, and site-wide compliance initiatives.**This position is available on Second Shift (M-F 2-10:30pm)Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Includes but is not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned:Implement Quality Management System (QMS) procedures, processes, and tools at the site level.Perform internal audits including QMS, ISO, 6S, and Process of Record (POR).Execute inspection and quality checks for production materials and finished goods.Collect and store quality records in strict accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).Manage data collection for calibration and preventive maintenance (PM) tasks.Develop and maintain SOP documentation and records to ensure audit readiness.Disseminate quality metrics, reports, and quality alerts to site teams.Assist with data collection for qualifications, measurement system analysis (MSA), and Gage R&R studies.Drive the closure of audit corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with applicable stakeholders.Support continual improvement projects related to quality, safety, and productivity.Your Experiences, Skills, and Abilities:High School Diploma or GED required with 0-2 years of relevant quality experience2 years college diploma in a tech area or bachelor’s degree preferredProficient in MS office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and shop floor control software40 hours of HAZWOPR training a plusBasic understanding of Statistical Process Control.Must possess the abilities to multitask and work well under pressureMust possess strong reading, communication, and comprehension abilities. Must be able to read, comprehend, and generate internal documents such as work order travelers, SOPs, inventory records, HAZMAT regulations, state and local regulations, and maintain internal logs and general company records in a clear concise manner. Brainstorming and bringing new ideas to the table are an essential part of the job.Knowledge of basic algebra and geometry; ability to understand units of measurement and dimension conversion.Ability to utilize both Mac and PC operating systems for standard office functions.Safety:Quality Technician will be trained in, and is to follow and lead by example, all general safety requirements of Pentagon Technologies as well as specific safety requirements within the chemical, HAZMAT, and Environmental teams. This is a key and essential position within the company safety infrastructure. Employee will be trained on general safety requirements at time of hire, and specific requirements within this team during the first 90 days of his/her employ. The deployments of these duties are primary.Work Environment:Must be able to function well in an office environment. Must also be able to work in a controlled chemical and wastewater environment. Must also be able to perform in a laboratory environment. Persons who are sensitive to chemical environments with such medical conditions as asthma, allergies, or extreme sensitivity to chemicals may not be considered as good candidates for this position.Physical Demands:Must pass company required screening tests.
