Job summary

Lippert Components is seeking a Quality Technician to evaluate opportunities, perform robust root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions across manufacturing and NPD/NPI processes.

You will support Quality Inspectors and Production Floor Teams, maintain QMS alignment, and ensure product conformity before shipment. This role requires attention to detail and collaboration with design engineering.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; AS/BS degree preferred.
  • Experience with metrology / measurement systems
  • Ability to read and interpret product drawings and specifications
  • Strong documentation and quality data analysis skills

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Quality Management System (QMS) processes aligned to Enterprise quality objectives.
  • Assist in internal/external audits and containment activities.
  • Support production and design engineering during NPD/NPI reviews.
  • Perform inspections, sampling, and product validation as required.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to permanent resolution.

Summary/Objective:

The Quality Technician role will be required to evaluate opportunities, conduct robust root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions.

The role includes the ability to support and provide guidance to Quality Inspectors / Auditors as well as Production Floor Team Members.

The role includes working directly with Quality and Design engineering throughout the New Product Development process as well as reviews of existing products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  1. Maintain Quality Management System (QMS) processes, aligned to all Enterprise Quality objectives and initiatives.
  2. Maintain QMS processes unique to the division / facility, while sharing best practices across the Enterprise.
  3. Ensure quality standards are executed in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  4. Ensure calibration systems and requriements are conducted in accordance with process and procedures.
  5. Ensure CSR's (Customer Specific Requirements) have been identified and all specifications are met.
  6. Ensure that appropriate quality testing is conducted and that test results are accurately documented.
  7. Conduct periodic audits to asess the effectiveness of the quality management system.
  8. Assist in the investigation of internal and external opportunities and the performance of robust containment, root cause, and corrective action intiatives, to ensure permanent resolution.
  9. Assist in the 'look across' actions to ensure 'like' product and/or processes have been considered.
  10. Anaylze quality data to identify trends and drive robust and permanent root cause and corrective actions.
  11. Assist in the maintenance of metrics to monitor the performance of products and processes.
  12. Provide technical guidance and support to production and design departments.
  13. Remain up to date on industry standards and regulations.
  14. Provide accurate and timely reporting and audit results as directed and/or requested.
  15. Continuously develop containment and detection processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy are at the forefront of product reviews and to ensure conforming product is the expectation prior to shipment from a supply partners facility and/or from the Lippert facility.
  16. Actively participate in MRB (Material Review Board) initiatives as directed and/or required of the facility.
  17. Work closely with Quality and Design Engineering teams for product / process reviews for NPD/NPI.
  18. Provide accurate and timely reporting and audit results as directed and/or requested.
  19. Perform the following actions as directed
    1. Inspection and sorting
    2. Auditing / random sampling
    3. Product validation
    4. FAIR - First Article Inspection Reports
    5. Continuously develop containment and detection processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy are at the forefront of product reviews and to ensure conforming product is the expectation prior to shipment from a supply partners facility and/or from the Lippert facility.

Other Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform all other responsibilities as may be assigned by operations and/or quality management.

Working Conditions:

  1. Primarily working indoors, both office and manufacturing floor environments.
  2. May sit for several hours at a time.
  3. Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
  4. Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have direct reports.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member:

  1. will be required to communicate regularly with Lippert Supply Partners, Lippert Customers, and Lippert operational, departmental and leadership team members.
  2. will be very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching throughout the day.
  3. may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
  4. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  1. This is a full-time, salary or hourly position.
  2. The hours of operation are consistent with operational hours of our Lippert MFG facilities. Hours may fluctuate dependent upon MFG hours of operation.
  3. Hours are not expected to exceed 8 hours in each day or 40 hours for the week.
  4. The workdays are Monday through Friday.
  5. Overtime may be unavoidable on occasion and the employee may be requested to work additional hours per day and/or on Saturday.

Travel

This position may require travel between Lippert facilities, supply partners, and customers. Estimated travel will be 10% of the role.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. AS / BS degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience
  3. Working knowledge of metrology / measurement systems
  4. Understanding of reading and interpreting product drawings and specifications

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Basic proficiency with MS Office tools. (e.g.: Excel, Word, Powerpoint,)
  2. Basic knowledge of drawing software. (e.g.: Solidworks, Autocad, etc.)
