Job Opening: Quality Assurance Technician

There is an opening for a Quality Assurance Technician working in the Quality Assurance Department based in Corry. From time to time, the technician may be assigned to the Irvine/Warren plants. This position reports to the Quality Supervisor. It is a non-exempt salary position (overtime applies for hours over 40/week). The starting wage depends on experience, knowledge, skills, and education.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare products for nondestructive testing and post-test cleaning.
  2. Perform Ultrasonic, Visual, Magnetic Particle, and Liquid Penetrant Testing.
  3. Conduct Hardness Testing.
  4. Perform metallographic and related laboratory testing.
  5. Conduct dimensional product inspections, including CMM-based methods.
  6. Prepare test reports suitable for customer review.
  7. Maintain records of equipment calibration and testing material certification.
  8. Calibrate testing and inspection equipment.
  9. Train others in destructive and nondestructive testing and dimensional inspection methods.
  10. Assist and accompany customer auditors.
  11. Travel periodically to subcontractor or customer locations as required.
  12. Attend scheduled work regularly, as attendance is essential.
  13. Support production by working altered shifts and mandatory overtime when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Problem-solving, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  3. Ability to work well independently and in a team; self-motivated.
  4. Attention to detail, with a proven work history.
  5. Good organizational skills, initiative, and ability to multi-task.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Certificate or Associate’s Degree in Nondestructive Testing, Metallurgical Fields, or Quality Assurance.
  2. Relevant experience in Nondestructive Testing, including UT, MT, PT, VT.
  3. Experience with Hardness Testing using various equipment.
  4. Mechanical Testing experience.
  5. Knowledge of nondestructive testing requirements for Ellwood National Forge products.
  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  7. Previous experience in Quality Assurance.
