Job summary

IMA Life North America is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to support product quality, process compliance, and continuous improvement in a complex manufacturing environment. You will handle inspection activities, nonconformance support, supplier quality engagement, calibration control, and QMS execution.

Responsibilities include performing various inspections, documenting findings, supporting root cause investigations, and maintaining metrology equipment.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical training with 3–5 years of manufacturing quality experience.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specs and inspection plans.
  • Experience with ASME-coded products and metal fabrication environments is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems and calibration processes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and quality data entry systems.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on Quality Technician to support product quality, process compliance, and continuous improvement within a complex manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for inspection activities, nonconformance management support, supplier quality engagement, calibration control, and Quality Management System execution. The ideal candidate combines strong technical inspection skills with disciplined problem solving and a commitment to driving quality excellence throughout the organization

Primary Position Responsibilities:

  • Inspection & Verification Execution: Perform incoming, in-process (WIP), first-article, and final inspections of fabricated, machined, and assembled components. Verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Nonconformance Management: Identify, document, quarantine, and process nonconforming materials and products. Support root cause investigations and corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Supplier Quality Support: Conduct supplier source inspections and supplier assessments, including periodic travel as required. Work collaboratively with suppliers to improve quality performance and resolve recurring issues.
  • Data Collection & Reporting: Accurately record inspection results, nonconformance data, and quality metrics. Provide timely reporting to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Metrology & Calibration: Maintain control of inspection, measuring, and test equipment. Coordinate and document calibration activities to ensure equipment accuracy and compliance.
  • Documentation & Standardization: Generate, maintain, and improve inspection procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, and calibration documentation.
  • Internal Audit Participation: Support and perform internal quality audits to evaluate compliance with ISO 9001 requirements, company procedures, and customer expectations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in Lean manufacturing and quality improvement initiatives focused on defect reduction, process capability improvement, waste elimination, and customer satisfaction.
  • Training & Technical Support: Assist in training production personnel and fellow technicians on inspection methods, quality standards, and best practices.
  • Safety & Compliance: Promote a culture of safety and quality by ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, ISO, ASME, ANSI, and other applicable regulatory and company requirements.

This position may involve ocassional travel of less than 10%, primarily local travel.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
  • Education & Experience: Associate degree in a technical discipline preferred. Equivalent combination of technical training and 3-5 years of manufacturing quality experience will be considered.
  • Technical Inspection Expertise: Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, inspection plans, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Working knowledge of metal fabrication, machining, welding, assembly processes, and pressure vessel manufacturing environments. Experience with ASME-coded products is preferred.
  • Metrology Skills: Proficiency using precision measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and other inspection tools.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Experience supporting root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and continuous improvement activities.
  • QMS Familiarity: Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems, documentation control, audit processes, and quality records management.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across operations, engineering, purchasing, and suppliers.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and quality data entry/reporting systems.
  • Work Requirements: Must be able to work on-site and perform shop-floor inspections in a manufacturing environment.
SALARY RANGE

$60,000-70,000
