ABOUT THE ROLE

The Quality Technician position provides a quality product to the customer by collecting samples and performing tests on raw materials, materials in process, finished products and competitive products.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

• Collect samples and perform accurate quality control testing to ensure product quality. Provide verbal and/or written test results to management and production staff in a timely manner. Assist manager with customer service issues as directed. Certify results of laboratory findings.
• Examine laboratory and/or core samples to determine their physical and chemical properties. Use a variety of instruments and calculations to determine conformity. Perform various tests to ensure samples meet required standards.
• Record, analyze, certify and prepare summaries of findings. Maintain records of test results using various databases.
• Assist with customer service issues as required. Troubleshoot to determine reason for problem or complaint.
• Collect samples from various areas of the plant as required.
• Provide leadership and/or guidance to less experienced QC technicians and/or inspectors on more complex assignments. Coordinate work to ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner and are in order of priority. May train new employees.
• Communicate problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violations of policy or law.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Education: High School Diploma/GED

Additional Education Preferred: Associates/Technical Degree

Field of Study Preferred: Chemistry or other science related field

Required Work Experience: 0-1 year

Travel Requirements: Less than 10%

• Computer and software skills: Data Entry, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
• Must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
