Job summary

AAON, Inc. is seeking an on-site Training Specialist in Redmond, OR to create, implement, and maintain training for coatings equipment and related safety procedures.

You will design materials, schedule sessions with internal teams and vendors, and track attendance and certifications, ensuring competency and regulatory compliance. The role emphasizes multimedia content creation, performance feedback, and collaboration with diverse teams in a dynamic warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 1+ year in inventory control, shipping or equivalent.
• Preferred: experience in quality training leadership and familiarity with equipment used in inventory control and shipping operations.
• Forklift licenses required or ability to obtain instructor certifications.

• Create and maintain operational and safety procedures for all equipment used in the Coatings department.
• Schedule and coordinate training sessions with internal teams and external vendors as needed.
• Design and update training materials, including multimedia content, course outlines, and evaluation tools.
• Monitor and assess trainee performance; provide feedback and coaching to ensure competency and compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and certifications.
• Assist in evaluating job performance and testing potential new hires when required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Requires a high school diploma or GED; 1+ years of experience in inventory control, shipping operations, or a similar industry; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
• Preferred: Experience in quality training leadership and familiarity with equipment used in inventory control and shipping operations.

Certificates, Licenses, And Registration Requirements

• Must hold or obtain forklift operator licenses (sit-down, stand-up, turret, reach truck, etc.).
• Must be open to obtaining instructor certifications for listed equipment.

Essential Mental And Physical Functions

• Frequent standing and walking during training sessions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Use of fine and gross motor skills for equipment demonstrations and handling training materials.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions as required by operational areas.

Work Environment

• Perform all tasks on-site in warehouse and training areas.
• Exposure to loud noise levels, moving mechanical parts, and occasional extreme temperatures.
• Compliance with all applicable safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• This role is classified as a Safety Sensitive Position, requiring heightened awareness and adherence to all safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment.
