Job summary

Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting in Newaygo, Michigan, is seeking a Quality Systems Supervisor to lead the QMS, ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001, and drive internal and supplier audits, CAPA, and document control. You will champion continuous improvement and data-driven quality across manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, quality systems, or manufacturing quality.
  • Experience with automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D) preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Plan, conduct, and support internal, customer, and third-party audits; drive CAPA activities.
  • Maintain document control processes, work instructions, and quality records; monitor metrics.
  • Coordinate management review activities and quality reporting; support launches and process validation.
  • Train employees on quality system requirements and collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations and Supplier Quality.

This position leads quality system activities, internal and external audits, corrective action programs, document control processes, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting operational excellence and customer satisfaction. This summary is consistent with both internal quality-system roles and external quality-systems benchmarks. Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS). Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements, and company procedures. Plan, conduct, and support internal, customer, and third-party audits. Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities, including root cause analysis and effectiveness verification. Manage document control processes, work instructions, procedures, and quality records. Monitor quality metrics and recommend improvements based on data analysis. Coordinate management review activities and quality reporting. Support launch activities, change management, and process validation efforts. Train employees on quality system requirements and procedures.
