Job summary

Glenn Metalcraft Inc. in Princeton, MN is seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer who will own quality processes across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.

You will apply PPAP, GD&T, and SPC to prevent defects, mentor team members on inspection best practices, and generate inspection documentation for customer plans, including FARO Arm programming when needed. You'll drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain the Quality Management System to ensure product quality and customer

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of PPAP and inspection techniques/philosophies.

Responsibilities

  • Embed quality requirements into manufacturing by collaborating with engineering, production, and supply chain.
  • Drive CAPAs, NCMRs, and ECRs.
  • Generate inspection documentation and PPAP elements.
  • Train teammates on inspection tools and GD&T.
  • Apply SPC to monitor process capability and flag trends.
  • Support MRB to resolve non-conforming material.

We're looking for a hands-on Quality professional who thrives at the intersection of systems, data, and precision measurement. If you enjoy building robust processes, mentoring others on inspection best practices, and using SPC to prevent defects before they happen, this role is for you.

Your impact
  • Embed quality requirements into manufacturing by collaborating with engineering, production, and supply chain.
  • Evaluate information impartially and act in the best interests of both the company and our customers.
  • Uphold and strengthen the Quality Management System.
  • Drive corrective and preventive action: initiate/assist with CAPAs, NCMRs, and ECRs.
  • Generate new-part packages: Initial Sample Inspection Reports, bubble drawings, control plans, and related documents (including PPAP elements).
  • Train teammates on inspection tools/equipment and practical application of GD&T.
  • Deliver accurate, timely Faro Arm programming when applicable.
  • Author professional inspection documentation per customer inspection plans.
  • Own calibration and care of measurement equipment; keep gauges in verified condition.
  • Conduct in-process measurement and random quality checks on production parts.
  • Identify and implement process improvements; contribute to continuous improvement events.
  • Apply SPC methods to monitor process capability, interpret control charts, and flag trends.
  • Participate in MRB to resolve non-conforming material and product issues.
  • Advance workplace organization and efficiency through 5S.
  • Support departmental priorities and project work as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Minimum qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of PPAP and inspection techniques/philosophies.
Preferred and competencies
  • Process auditing experience preferred.
  • ISO 9001 familiarity and strong GD&T interpretation.
  • Proficiency with SPC software; strong computer literacy.
  • Solid manufacturing background and clear verbal/written/interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively.
Physical and work environment
  • Lift document storage boxes up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Stand up to 4 hours; sit for extended periods.
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination; good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
  • Consistent use of PPE.
  • Regular use of telephone and email; walk short distances in the facility.
