Millennium Space Systems, a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), is a fast, agile small satellite company focused on national security space. Our missions have direct impact to global security, like missile warning and Earth observation.

Our team is curious, bold and innovative. We take risks, innovate and explore new techniques and technologies. We influence change because we challenge the status quo. And when we watch our satellites launch, we know each one of us made it happen.

Job Summary

Millennium Space Systems, a Boeing Company, is seeking a Quality Systems Engineer to develop, lead, and continuously improve our Quality Management System (QMS) across satellite production and mission‑critical hardware programs. This role serves as a key driver of AS9100D compliance, audit readiness, and systemic process improvement — partnering with Engineering, Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, and Program teams to embed a culture of quality and compliance throughout the organization.

The Quality Systems Engineer will own QMS execution and roadmap development, lead internal and external audit programs, manage digital QMS tools and data platforms, and drive root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives. This position is critical to supporting certification activities, production flow continuity, and scalable quality operations as Millennium grows its manifest.

This position's internal job code is Quality Engineer. Our team is currently hiring for a Level 3-4.

Position Responsibilities
  • QMS Development & Management
  • Develop, lead, and manage the execution of the QMS and its top‑level processes, ensuring alignment with AS9100D, ISO 9001, customer, and regulatory requirements
  • Build and maintain the internal QMS roadmap for tools, capabilities, and processes to match program growth, new product introductions, and customer requirements
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Global Supply Chain to develop processes, digital tools to meet QMS requirements and advance new quality capabilities
  • Become a systems expert for QMS tools, processes, and data sets to enable effective quality execution across all programs
  • Audit Program Leadership
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the internal & external audit program against AS9100/ISO standards and customer‑specific requirements; manage audit scheduling, resource allocation, and results reporting
  • Support external certification audits and customer audits; interface with third‑party registrars and government auditors as required
  • Measure, analyze, and report quality system and audit metrics to leadership; identify trends and drive systemic corrective actions
  • Process Improvement & Corrective Action
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective action (CAPA) for internal audit findings, customer observations, and nonconformance trends

Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities that benefit the QMS and overall product quality.

Support investigations, quality initiatives, and cross‑functional projects at the team and organizational level.

  • Training & Compliance
  • Provide training and guidance on quality system policies, procedures, and compliance requirements to internal stakeholders across enterprise
  • Develop QMS training modules and packages
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100D, and applicable regulatory requirements throughout the production lifecycle
  • Metrology, Calibration & Measurement Systems
  • Support the metrology and calibration program, ensuring measurement equipment is maintained, calibrated, and compliant with AS9100 and customer requirements
  • Develop and track KPIs related to tool control, calibration adherence, equipment utilization, and on‑time performance to drive measurement system reliability and audit readiness
  • Data, Metrics & Reporting
  • Plan, measure, analyze, and report quality system performance metrics to support data‑driven decision making
  • Leverage data analytics platforms, reporting tools, and business intelligence systems (ERP, Power BI) to extract insights and support QMS effectiveness reviews
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports using SQL, Tableau, Python, Excel, or similar tools
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non‑US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • Proven ability to prioritize quality initiatives based on business risk, COPQ, and strategic goals.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. A final U.S. clearance Post Start is required.
