The Quality Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, maintaining, and improving business systems to ensure they are compliant, integrated, and capable of supporting operational performance. This role bridges Quality, Engineering, and Operations to ensure that business processes are aligned and compliant with AS9100, AS13100, and customer specifications as well as standardized, data-driven, and scalable. The role will be responsible to establish cross functional support to enhance the health of business deliverables.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own and optimize core business systems (QMS, ERP, MES, document control)
- Identify and eliminate disconnects between systems and actual operations
- Map and standardize cross-functional processes
- Translate business requirements into system workflows and controls
- Ensure systems support compliance with AS9100, customer requirements, and governmental oversight
- Support Business System Audits (BSA), layer process audits (LPA) and internal/external audits
- Ensure traceability, configuration control, and data integrity
- Develop and maintain system-driven KPIs (OTD, FPY, PPM, scrap, etc.)
- Build dashboards and reporting tools to drive decision-making
- Identify system bottlenecks and inefficiencies
- Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, digital transformation)
- Reduce manual work, redundancy, and risk through automation and system enhancements
- Support root cause analysis for system-related failures
- Drive corrective actions that fix process/system breakdowns—not just symptoms
- Prevent recurrence through controls embedded in systems
- Partner with IT on system solutions
- Configure workflows, permissions, and controls
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Field (Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related field) or equivalent experience.
- 4–8+ years of experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or regulated industry
- Strong experience with QMS systems as well as auditing to industry standards
- Strong understanding of cross-functional business processes
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, or regulated industry
- Familiarity with GD&T, FMEA, and process validation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
- Experience in automotive, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries.
