Job summary

Blue Diamond Growers in Turlock seeks a Quality Systems Technician to join our production team. This full-time role handles QC functions, audits, data interpretation, and final product inspections to ensure quality against specifications.

The position requires a High School Diploma and 2-3 years in grade analysis or lab/inspection, with Excel proficiency and strong attention to detail. Candidates should be able to follow procedures, support sanitation tasks, and contribute to Food Safety

Qualifications

  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years' experience in grade analysis, sampling, or lab/inspection.
  • Experience leading customer audits.
  • Ability to interpret data and communicate suggestions for improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Perform QC functions and quality systems audits to determine the quality and grade of products.
  • Conduct sanitation related duties on processing equipment and facilities.
  • Enter data and report results; inform non-conformities.
  • Adhere to Food Safety, Food Security & Food Quality procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Systems Technician

Location: Turlock

This position is responsible for a variety of QC functions and quality systems audits and processes, interpretation of data and reporting to determine the quality and grade of products. Performs a variety of QC functions and quality systems audits and processes, and/or final product inspections (includes intermediate math calculations and data entry of results, interpretation of data and reporting) to determine the quality and grade of products and informs appropriate personnel of non-conformities. Performs sanitation related duties by mechanically dismantling and re-assembling components of food processing equipment, in addition to the floors, walls and related facilities. Mix and use chemicals related to cleaning and sanitizing equipment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Adheres to documented policies, and procedures to determine if product meets specifications and informs appropriate personnel of non-conformities. Adhere to all procedures & practices associated with Food Safety, Food Security & Food Quality.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum level of education required

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum number of year(s) of experience required in addition to education plus type(s) of functional experience

Candidates must have 2-3 years' experience performing grade analysis, sampling, or lab/inspection, as well as leading customer audits. Ability to follow detailed instructions. Able to interpret data and communicate suggestions for improvement. Ability to perform a variety of grade analyses and follow written procedures as outlined in numerous operating procedures. Requires intense visual concentration and strong attention to detail. Requires intermediate math skills. Proficient data entry skills, able to input results;(Excel knowledge a must). Must have ability to prioritize effectively and perform multiple tasks within a fast-paced production environment. Must understand Blue Diamond worker instructions, HACCP processes and auditing, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and safety practices. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work under limited supervision. Work consists of routine tasks requiring identification of problems and everyday decision-making. Must meet output standards and meet schedules and deadlines as assigned. Ascend and descend multiple level equipment and work from elevated locations. Ability to climb ladders and cross high catwalks. Be able to walk plant areas. Overtime as necessary is a requirement to the performance of this position.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

Previous experience in food processing and lean manufacturing is highly desired. Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) preferred. Experience with usage of common inspection tools (i.e. sieves, scales etc.) preferred.
