Job summary

Silfab Solar Inc. in Fort Mill, SC, seeks a Quality Supervisor to lead QC staff and uphold ISO-based quality systems across products and processes.

You will drive root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and lean initiatives while partnering with Engineering and Manufacturing to deliver defect-free PV modules. The role requires a Bachelor's in STEM, 3+ years QA experience, and 5+ years in PV manufacturing or related fields, with prior supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM or related field.
• 3+ years in Quality Assurance.
• 5 years in PV manufacturing or related field (preferred).
• 5 years in supervision/management (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manage daily performance of QC staff.
• Lead, motivate, and train QC personnel to meet goals.
• Assist in Quality department projects with Engineering/Manufacturing.
• Investigate root cause of customer complaints and initiate corrective actions.
• Promote actions to improve quality, processes and product.
• Eliminate process variation and defects.
• Maintain ISO based quality systems.
• Manage systems for statistical analyses and control of materials and products.
• Ensure customer requirements are met.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
• Attend workshops and participate in professional networks.
• Participate in audits and present KPI reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary of Position

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the implementation of quality control measures and standards within the organization. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the quality of products, processes, and services. Your attention to detail, analytical skills, and leadership abilities will contribute to the overall success of the company's quality management efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage daily performance of QC staff
• Responsible for leading, motivating, and training QC personnel to meet or exceed department and company goals and objectives
• Lead or assist in Quality department projects as assigned by Management and assist Engineering and Manufacturing with projects, as appropriate
• Investigate root cause of customer complaints and initiate/complete corrective action, as appropriate
• Propose, promote and champion actions to improve quality, processes and product
• Eliminate process variation and product defects through creative solutions
• Maintain ISO based quality systems
• Implement and manage systems to complete statistical analyses and control of all products including raw materials, WIP materials, non-conforming products, and finished goods
• Ensure customer requirements are met
• Devise ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency
• Actively drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives using all available tools and technologies
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
• Participate in internal and external audits
• Develop and present KPI reports
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Excellent mistake-proofing, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelors degree in STEM, related field, or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years in Quality Assurance
• 5 years in PV manufacturing or another PV-related field, preferred
• 5 years in Supervision/Management preferred
