Job summary

CM Truck Beds in Kingston is seeking a Quality Supervisor to lead the QC Inspectors and own the plant's quality program end-to-end. This leadership role builds and sustains quality systems at the Kingston CM plant.

You will drive RCCA/MRB, lead problem-solving activities, and establish inspection standards while partnering with Engineering, Production, and Purchasing to address top defect categories. The role reports to plant leadership and supports ISO 9001 audits.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Quality, Engineering, or related field desired; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing quality experience, including experience operating in a lead, mentor, or informal leadership capacity.
  • Strong working knowledge of RCCA, MRB, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience building or improving a quality program
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, welding specs, and paint/coating specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; able to build tracking tools/dashboards for KPI reporting.
  • Strong communication skills, including presenting quality performance to plant leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Driver RCCA and coordinate MRB process across the plant for continuous improvement.
  • Lead plant's QC Inspectors, coordinating daily inspection priorities and providing technical guidance.
  • Own reduction of top warranty drivers with measurable YoY targets tied to plant EBITDA/GM goals.
  • Support structured problem-solving (5 Whys, Fishbone, PDCA) and cross-functional Kaizen events.
  • Design and implement in-process and final inspection standards where formal procedures may not yet exist.
  • Own quality KPI reporting (scrap rate, warranty $, volume, first-pass yield, audit results).
  • Partner with Engineering, Production, and Purchasing on supplier and process root causes.
  • Develop and audit Standard Work procedures; drive 5S implementation and sustainment.
  • Establish and lead operator training programs for quality standards and inspection techniques.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for internal and external audits, including ISO 9001 compliance.
  • Build the foundation for a formal Quality Management System (QMS) as plant volume grows.

Job description

The Quality Supervisor leads and directs the quality function at the Kingston plant, leading the plant's QC Inspectors and owning the plant's quality program end-to-end. This is a leadership role responsible for building quality functions and systems at the Kingston CM plant.

Key Responsibilit
  • Drive Root-Cause-Corrective-Action (RCCA) and coordinate Material Review Board (MRB) process across the plant for continuous improvement efforts.
  • Lead plant's QC Inspectors, coordinating daily inspection priorities and providing technical guidance and quality expertise.
  • Own reduction of top warranty drivers (i.e. paint defects, aluminum weld defects, aluminum tarnish) with measurable YoY targets tied to plant EBITDA/GM goals.
  • Support structured problem-solving (5 Whys, Fishbone, PDCA) and cross-functional Kaizen events.
  • Design and implement in-process and final inspection standards where formal procedures may not yet exist.
  • Own quality KPI reporting (i.e. scrap rate, warranty $/volume, first-pass yield, audit results) directly to the Plant Manager.
  • Partner with Engineering, Production, and Purchasing on supplier and process root causes for top defect categories.
  • Develop and audit Standard Work procedures; drive 5S implementation and sustainment across work areas.
  • Establish and lead operator training programs for quality standards and inspection techniques.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for internal and external audits, including ISO 9001 compliance.
  • Build the foundation for a formal Quality Management System (QMS) as plant volume and complexity grow, including the framework for future quality staff additions.

  • Familiarity with SPC and statistical data analysis tools.
  • Experience standing up a quality department/function.
