Job summary

API Heat Transfer, a leader in heat transfer solutions, seeks a Quality Supervisor in Buffalo, NY. The role focuses on supervising the ASME program, coordinating with engineering, sales and purchasing, and leading inspection and NDE activities to ensure contractual compliance.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in a similar role, 5+ years of supervisory experience, and manufacturing background. The position offers full health benefits, a 401(k), and PTO with a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred.
• Minimum 7 years in a similar function.
• Five years of supervisory/management experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with preparing and working with detailed documentation.
• Experience with welding procedures and welder qualifications a plus.
• Experience with non-destructive examination (NDE) a plus.
• Union environment experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and move product up to 50lbs and use overhead crane.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and maintain the ASME program.
• Review contract files/customer specifications and coordinate special requirements with engineering, sales and purchasing.
• Provide training for inspection personnel, maintain qualification records as required.
• Perform and/or supervise NDE procedures. Coordinate NDE subcontracting.
• Hire, coach and evaluate staff.
• Additional responsibilities: conduct internal audits of quality/ISO program; qualify/maintain welding procedures and welder qualifications; maintain welder qualification testing; prepare/update NDE records and personnel qualifications.
