Job summary

The JOY FM is seeking a Quality Inspector to lead inspection activities on fabricated metal parts, ensuring GD&T conformance and dimensional accuracy across assemblies. You will perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and surface plates, and verify dimensions against drawings and BOM.

You will supervise, mentor, and schedule daily tasks for junior inspectors and shop-floor technicians; train staff on quality standards and defect

Qualifications

• Experience performing first-article, in-process, and final inspections.
• Ability to verify GD&T against drawings and BOM.
• Experience leading quality inspectors and shop-floor technicians.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct first-article, in-process, and final inspections on fabricated metal parts, assemblies, and welds using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and surface plates.
• Verify dimensions, GD&T, and BOM against engineering drawings and BOM.
• Supervise, mentor, and schedule daily tasks for junior quality inspectors and shop floor technicians.
• Train production staff on quality control standards, proper tool handling, and defect prevention procedures.
• Maintain Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and inspection logs.
• Support internal audits and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management standards.
• Collaborate with shop supervisors and welders to resolve fit-up issues and reduce scrap rates.
• Track quality metrics to identify root causes of manufacturing defects and implement continuous improvement projects.

• Leadership & Training:
