Yuasa Battery, Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead a three-shift on-site team and ensure products meet quality, reliability, and performance standards.

You will coordinate with suppliers, engineering, and production to uphold ISO and internal quality systems, drive corrective actions, and reduce scrap while ensuring safe working conditions.

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent.
  • 3-5+ years related experience.

  • Experience with ISO audits.
  • Strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in establishing quality procedures, standards, and specifications for the company.
  • Assist in setting raw material requirements from suppliers and monitor supplier compliance.
  • Collaborate with procurement and Product Engineering to meet quality requirements.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes follow national and international standards.
  • Issue Quality Bulletins, Quality Alerts and training.
  • Collect, analyze quality data to assess performance.
  • Coordinate production testing to confirm quality.
  • Supervise quality technicians to ensure adherence to procedures.
  • Review existing specifications for improvements or upgrades.
  • Participate in audits (customer, internal, ISO) and nonconformity actions.
  • Oversee calibration system, document control, and training logging.
  • Oversee Corrective Action issuance and tracking.

Description


This position is responsible for ensuring that the manufactured products meet the standards of quality, reliability, and performance. Candidate will lead a team working on 3 shifts; this is an on-site position.


Job Responsibilities include:



  • Assist in establishing quality procedures, standards, and specifications for the company.

  • Assist in setting the requirements for raw materials from suppliers via Purchasing Specifications. Monitor supplier compliance. Complete Vendor Defect Material Reports.

  • Collaborate with the procurement function and Product Engineering to ensure raw materials and purchased parts from external suppliers meet the quality requirements.

  • Ensure that the manufacturing processes follow both national and international standards of production.

  • Issue Quality Bulletins, Quality Alerts and training.

  • Collect, compile, and analyze relevant quality statistical data to obtain information regarding quality performance.

  • Coordinate production testing to confirm products produced meets required quality standards.

  • Supervise quality technicians to ensure they perform their duties in line with established quality procedures.

  • Assist to review existing process and product specifications to identify the need for improvement or upgrades.

  • Scrap reporting for facility and reporting to parent company in Japan.

  • Participate in all audits – customer, internal and external (ISO), etc.

  • Control and oversee the MRR system. Checks, reports, dispositions, corrective actions, etc.

  • Oversee document control and logging of training.

  • Oversee Calibration system and incoming processes.

  • Oversee Corrective Action issuance and tracking.

  • Recommend ways to improve upon existing quality processes.

  • Recommend ways to decrease costs and reduce scrap.

  • Ensure safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues

  • Other reporting and duties as assigned.


Requirements



  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to coach and lead a team.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to work and manage priorities in a changing environment; must be able to promote suggestions to assist in the creation of an efficient workflow and be interested in growth opportunities within the department.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Strong Excel skills required.

  • Must follow the environmental program and all safety rules.


Education and Experience:



  • College degree or equivalent

  • 3 - 5+ years related experience required.


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to work in a hot, humid environment on occasion.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally
