Job summary

Nucor Steel-Hertford County is hiring a Quality Supervisor to drive the implementation and continuous improvement of quality systems and customer-focused certifications. You will work across melt shop and rolling mills to ensure quality standards align with customer requirements and corporate strategy.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and leadership, with responsibilities across audits, training, and cross-functional collaboration to uphold Nucor's quality goals and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience with Quality Systems required.
• Experience in steel or manufacturing industry preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and continually improve quality certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ABS, Military).
• Collaborate across melt shop and rolling mills to meet Nucor interests.
• Coordinate with Sales and Operations on customer requirements and product needs.
• Drive quality improvements and conduct audits and training.
• Lead process groups across the organization at all levels.
• Contribute to long-term planning for department quality goals and division strategy.
• Maintain a safe working environment with safety, quality, and integrity as priorities.

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel-Hertford County is seeking a Quality Supervisor that will be responsible for:

• The implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of all quality and customer related certifications including, but not limited to, ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ABS, and Military.
• Serve as a resource to facilitate collaboration throughout the melt shop and rolling mills to ensure the best interest of Nucor is being met.
• Work cross-functionally with Sales and Operations to address customer specific requirements and product needs.
• Work to drive quality improvement throughout the facility as well as coordinate and conduct audits and applicable training.
• Lead process groups and work with all levels of the organization.
• Participate in the long-term strategic planning for the department by collaborating with other departments to set quality goals that directly support the overall vision and strategy of the division.
• Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment. Safety, quality, and integrity are integral to the Quality supervisor position.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4-year Degree or Equivalent Experience
• Previous experience with Quality System(s)
• Previous experience in a steel or manufacturing related industry
• Authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous leadership experience.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001/ASTM Standards
