Job summary

Nucor Steel-Hertford County, part of Nucor Corporation, seeks a Quality Supervisor to oversee quality systems and drive certification programs across the site. You will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate audits, and champion safety, quality, and integrity in daily operations.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Sales and Operations to meet customer requirements, continuous improvement of processes, and strong leadership across all levels of the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Quality System(s).
• Experience in steel/manufacturing industry.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, and continually improve quality and customer-related certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ABS, Military).
• Serve as a resource to facilitate collaboration across melt shop and rolling mills.
• Work cross-functionally with Sales and Operations to address customer requirements and product needs.
• Drive quality improvement and coordinate audits and applicable training.
• Lead process groups and work with all levels of the organization.
• Contribute to long-term quality goals aligned with division strategy.
• Maintain a safe working environment; safety, quality, and integrity are core.

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel-Hertford County is seeking a Quality Supervisor that will be responsible for:

• The implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of all quality and customer related certifications including, but not limited to, ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ABS, and Military.
• Serve as a resource to facilitate collaboration throughout the melt shop and rolling mills to ensure the best interest of Nucor is being met.
• Work cross-functionally with Sales and Operations to address customer specific requirements and product needs.
• Work to drive quality improvement throughout the facility as well as coordinate and conduct audits and applicable training.
• Lead process groups and work with all levels of the organization.
• Participate in the long-term strategic planning for the department by collaborating with other departments to set quality goals that directly support the overall vision and strategy of the division.
• Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment. Safety, quality, and integrity are integral to the Quality supervisor position.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4-year Degree or Equivalent Experience
• Previous experience with Quality System(s)
• Previous experience in a steel or manufacturing related industry
• Authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous leadership experience.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001/ASTM Standards
