Job summary

Cooper Standard is seeking a Quality Supervisor to lead the Quality department, planning and coordinating programs to ensure continuous production aligns with established quality and customer standards.

The role requires leadership in manufacturing quality, problem-solving skills, and strong communication. Travel may be required, and the candidate should have a four-year degree and related experience in an automotive environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's or four-year degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills desired.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes quality objectives to continuously improve processes and product quality.
  • Maintains reporting systems and monitors key quality metrics.
  • Responds to customer concerns and ensures facility awareness and resolution.
  • Implements corrective actions and ensures compliance with customer specifications.
  • Oversees changes to systems, specifications and standards per policy.
  • Verifies calibration of measuring and testing equipment as required.
  • Allocates overtime to support production and oversees performance reviews.
  • Supports continuous improvement projects and training as needed.
  • Ensures housekeeping and health & safety standards are maintained.

Position Summary

The Quality Supervisor assists in leading the Quality department by planning, developing and coordinating the quality programs and processes to insure continuous production of products are consistent with established quality and customer standards.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Establishes quality objectives to continuously improve the process that assures product quality
  • Supports all key metrics regarding quality and assists in maintaining reporting systems
  • Ensures all customer concerns are reacted to immediately, resolved and the manufacturing facility is aware of all concerns
  • Ensures the execution of corrective actions and the ongoing compliance with customers’ specifications
  • Ensures changes to the systems, specifications and standards are implemented as per policy and procedure
  • Ensures verification/calibration of all measuring and testing equipment is performed as required
  • Direct and allocate overtime hours as schedules require supporting all production activities
  • Performs/assists in associate performance reviews and discussions
  • Supports continuous improvement projects
  • Participates in, and provides training as required
  • Ensures Housekeeping and Health & Safety Standards are maintained
  • Complies with policies and procedures pertaining to facility or divisional adopted standards such as IATF
  • Utilizes the concepts of continuous improvement including Lean
  • May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description
Education And Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Four year College or University Degree or equivalent
  • Prior leadership experience preferably in the automotive industry
  • Ability to solve complex problems and exercise judgement based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
  • Proven leadership, interpersonal skills and personal development skills
  • Experience in a variety of basic operation disciplines: Manufacturing, Quality, Process / Tooling and Shop Floor Supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary
Work Environment/Work Conditions
  • Professional Office Environment
  • Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor
  • Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required
  • Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury
