Job summary

Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years aerospace manufacturing experience in a quality discipline.
  • 5+ years of supervisory/management experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong ability to interpret aerospace blueprints and schematics.
  • Able to read and comprehend work documentation in English.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 Audit Process and quality systems.

Job description

The Quality Supervisor supports all activities involving the compliance to customer and product requirements, AS9100 requirements, and applicable state and regulatory requirements. This role provides direct supervision for quality inspectors. This role will assist the Director of Quality in maintaining quality procedures.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and technical oversight for Quality Inspectors.
  • Establish daily work priorities which align with company production plans.
  • Provide technical support to the Quality team members to ensure product manufactured meet customer requirements.
  • Perform diversified granite plate or bench inspections on a variety of standard or custom aerospace parts, products, assemblies, or raw materials that are being used in manufacturing product.
  • Uses a variety of precision measuring instruments, including electronic devices.
  • Read and interpret aerospace drawings, specifications and customer documents
  • Inspect product to verify correct color, finish, dimensions, hardness, density or other measurable or observable characteristics of material.
  • Perform detailed first article inspections following the installation of full assembly.
  • May recommend, write or modify sampling and inspections procedures.
  • May use statistical tools to chart variance.
  • Support cross-functional teams in the execution and reporting of quality improvement projects with a focus on overall process improvements, scrap reduction and supplier quality improvement.
  • Develop training modules for Quality Inspectors to provide a roadmap of skills for employee development.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 7 -10+ years of aerospace manufacturing experience in a quality discipline, preferably wire harness or electronical mechanical.
  • 5+ years of supervisory/management experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong ability to interpret aerospace blueprints and schematics.
  • Able to read and comprehend work documentation in the English language.
  • Proficient PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite applications).
Knowledge Skills Abilities And Other Contributions
  • Familiar with first Piece inspection and GD&T
  • Self-motivated individual that needs minimal supervision to be successful
  • Knowledge of AS9100 Audit Process
  • Ability to operate a CMM and employ mechanical inspection/surface plate
  • Requires strong attention to detail, organizational, time management and follow-up skills.
  • Team-player who can handle working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Quality oriented with a hands-on, “do it right the first” time personality.
