Job summary

PENTA Building Group is seeking a Quality Superintendent to join the Hard Rock Casino Tejon project in Mettler, CA. This role requires hands-on leadership to manage field QA/QC, develop the Quality Management Plan, and coordinate with PMs and subs to ensure construction quality.

You will inspect workmanship, document field reports, train crews, and mentor staff on-site. DOE for salary; travel or relocation may be required to support the Tejon site.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of relevant Quality Superintendent experience on commercial construction projects.
• OHSA 30 Card required.
• Ability to conduct group training and presentations.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes and quality applications.
• Willingness to relocate or travel to Tejon, CA.

Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in project start-up meetings.
• Develop and document the Quality Management Plan.
• Review Quality Buy-Out Checklists with PM and Superintendent to ensure coverage and quality standards.
• Attend meetings with subcontractors; define QA/QC responsibilities.
• Review product specs and submittals for approval.
• Conduct field walks and inspections; recommend corrections and coordinate rework.
• Prepare field reports for PM, Superintendent, and Project Engineer.
• Attend post-construction turnover meetings.
• Report lessons learned for future projects.

Job description

The PENTA Building Group is seeking a dedicated Quality Superintendent to join our Hard Rock Casino Tejon team in Mettler, CA (between Santa Clarita and Bakersfield).

A PENTA Quality Superintendent supports the project teams with the management and coordination of the quality control process on each assigned project. The ideal candidate for this role must be a flexible self-starter with a strong work ethic that stems from extensive experience across a wide variety of project types.

At PENTA, a Quality Superintendent is responsible for:

• Attending and participating in project start-up meetings.
• Developing and documenting the Quality Management Plan.
• Reviewing the Quality Buy-Out Checklists for applicable areas with the Project Manager and Superintendent to ensure all scopes are covered and nothing is missing that will impact quality standards.
• Attending meetings with subcontractors and defining QA/QC responsibilities.
• Reviewing product specifications and submittals to ensure they have been submitted and approved.
• Conducting field walks and field inspections during construction, making recommendations for correction of deficient workmanship, and coordinating plan for rework with Superintendent.
• Preparing field reports and providing them to the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Project Engineer responsible for the scope.
• Attending a post-construction “turn-over” meeting with the project team at the end of construction.
• Working with the project team to report Lessons Learned, any details that become apparent to be shared for future projects.

• A valid OHSA 30 Card is required.
• Ability to conduct group training and presentations.
• Strong knowledge of computer platforms used for quality applications.
• A positive attitude, flexibility, and eagerness to embrace new technology and tools in the industry.
• The ability to lead and desire to teach and mentor other employees.
• Ability to work on-site at our Tejon Hard Rock Casino jobsite in Mettler, CA. Or, flexibility to travel to or fully relocate for this project if not within a reasonable local commuting distance.
• Salary Range DOE $125,000 - $150,000, senior level will be considered based on experience.
