Job summary

Aypa Power LLC is seeking a Quality Specialist (Renewables) to support its Quality program across multiple utility-scale energy storage and solar projects in North America. The role focuses on audits, NCRs, inspections, and continuous improvement, reporting to the HESQ team.

The ideal candidate has a technical background in BESS/solar construction, ISO 9001 auditing, and strong communication skills. Travel is significant, and the position offers competitive compensation and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or related field or equivalent experience.
• In lieu of degree, 5+ years of BESS and/or solar construction experience preferred with ASQ CQI, CQE or CCQM Certification.
• Highly proficient in technical aspects of BESS and Solar utility construction.
• ISO-9001-2015 Auditor certification is preferred or obtainable within 1 year.
• OSHA 30 & NFPA70E training preferred or obtainable within 1 year.
• Strong working knowledge of complex electrical systems and components.
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
• Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Contractor for review and comments on site-specific Quality Manuals, ITPs, Inspection Checklists and Turnover packages.
• Review Contractor Site Specific Quality Plan, ITPs, checklists and turnover documentation against contract and design requirements.
• Review and manage all quality documentation for the life of the project, including turnover tracking and organization.
• Observe and verify construction work against drawings and standards for conformance (Material Receiving & Handling, Civil, Mechanical, Structural, Electrical and Substation).
• Attend all project-related meetings; manage and lead project quality meetings.
• Provide detailed inspection reports noting deficiencies and follow-up inspections to ensure corrective work.
• Communicate quality-related information to the Project team.
• Manage KPI’s for quality performance of assigned projects.
• Manage corrective actions.
• Assist in development of work instructions and processes for construction inspection requirements across BESS and Solar projects.
• Assist with development of a comprehensive quality manual and procedures across BESS+Solar components and assemblies.
• Assist as directed with O&M warranty work.
• Analyze new products for future project incorporation.
• Assist in training field personnel.
• Responsible for ensuring Code compliance with the projects.

The Quality Specialist (Renewables) supports and executes Aypa’s Quality program. This role provides quality support across multiple projects. This role supports and assists the HESQ Manager in reviewing, preparing, and executing the Quality program and its requirements, including supporting development of Quality processes, completing audits, observations and inspections, NCRs, and Continuous Improvement / lessons Learned. Additional responsibilities include supporting HSES initiatives as requested. HSES experience with audits or observations, safety walks, and JHSs is heavily desired.

Compensation and Location

Salary : A base salary commensurate with experience;
Bonus : An annual bonus will be awarded based on both individual performance and the overall success of the business;

Location : Ability to work in the United States is a requirement. Preference for California, Idaho, and Austin, TX, but the workplace location is flexible, provided the candidate can travel as required;
