Job summary

Amazon Leo, Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network, seeks a Quality professional to own the quality system development and drive non-conformances to root cause resolutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to qualify internal production processes and implement industry 4.0 inspired inspection methods.

Daily tasks include MRB management, root cause analysis, leading SOPs for inspection, and performing in-process/outgoing quality checks.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of consumer electronics lab environments experience.
  • NC Management - approving production non-conformances.
  • Documentation - creating and maintaining SOPs for inspection processes.
  • MRB Support - assisting Production QE with Material Review Board activities.
  • Resource Management - ordering tools and equipment for the inspection team.
  • Improvement Projects - leading large-scale non-conformance reduction initiatives under the guidance.
  • Containment Support – execute sort, rework, or disposition to a pre-defined scope of work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the MRB process at production floor review the non-conformance and approve the disposition.
  • Perform the Root cause analysis to reduced NC
  • Lead the work instruction (SOP) for quality inspection team
  • Perform In-Process and Outgoing Quality Inspection for assembly process
  • Drive inspection improvement process and work toward industry 4.0 standards for automated inspection system such as Vision, Sensor based.
  • Lead the Problem solving by using tool such as lean six sigma, 8D, A3, Ishikawa diagram or cause-and-effect diagram, Design of Experiment.

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Amazon Leo Quality team is driven to develop a Quality System that is capable of scaling aerospace quality to volume and cost levels to meet end customer needs. This position will join the team at an exciting moment, with an opportunity to own quality system development and contribute to the design of requirements, processes, and systems used across the business.

Perform daily defect resolution as the Quality member.

Investigates Production System issues to reduce defect rates and drive root cause corrective actions

  • Implements the Leo Quality System through process development and launch mechanisms.
  • Partners with cross-functional groups to develop and qualify internal production processes, including Quality Assurance processes
  • Conduct rigorous Continuous Improvement activities to prevent recurrence of non-conformance during assembly.
  • Perform audit activities to ensure compliance to QMS requirements.
Shifts are but not limited to:

Wed-Sat 5:30pm-3:30am OR

Sun-Wed 5:30pm-3:30am

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities
  • Manage the MRB process at production floor review the non-conformance and approve the disposition

A day in the life

24 hour NC review to see the trends and work towards for containment actions

Review the NC on production floor and perform disposition.

Review the rework and lead salvage process

Perform measurement for quality lab measurement such as CMM, Romer Arm, Optical Vision System, OMM, Height Gage and other gages.

Work with Quality Engineering and Quality Inspection team and provide support as needed for both function as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • Data Analysis – Advanced Excel, Minitab, JMP, running SQL query.
  • Audits - conducting layered process audits, product audit, torque audits, teardown audit, other quality audits.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
