Job summary

JE Dunn’s Advanced Facilities Group seeks a Quality Specialist to support project QA activities across multiple industrial & manufacturing sites. You will engage in safety and quality planning, review design documents, and help ensure work meets contract specifications.

The role involves on-site activities, coordinating with suppliers, and performing basic constructability reviews under supervision. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 0–2 years’ construction experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management or related field is required.
• 0–2 years construction experience or internship preferred.
• Experience with quality assurance processes and documentation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Learn and participate in safety and quality plans and culture.
• Participate in project quality plans and status reports.
• Document QA processes, test results and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with suppliers to maintain quality standards for incoming materials.
• Develop site observations to ensure work meets specifications and is timely.
• Conduct regular walk-throughs to ensure contract compliance and industry standards.
• Investigate non-compliant conditions and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with QA reporting to field teams and subcontractors.

JE Dunn’s Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you’ll work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the country, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

• Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company’s safety and quality plans and culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and setting an example for others

• Participates in the project specific quality plan, project specific water intrusion plan, and project quality status report

• Ensures that comprehensive documentation of quality assurance processes, test results and corrective actions taken

• Collaborates with suppliers to establish and maintain quality standards for incoming materials

• Gains knowledge of design documents in order to identify potential quality problems to assist in developing constructability review reports

• Develops performance of project site observations to ensure specifications and expectations are met and work is completed in a quality and timely manner

• Develops comprehension of how to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies

• Utilizes basic understanding of project Contract Documents

• May provide coordination and oversight to the project specific quality plan

• Attends pre-planning, pre-installation and progress meetings

• Conducts regular walk-through observations of construction sites to ensure compliance with the contract documents, manufacturers’ instructions and industry standards

• Investigates non-compliant conditions; confers with supervisor or other Quality team staff members to determine root cause and provide recommendations in work processes to eliminate reoccurrence

• Utilizes internal quality assurance systems and tools to prepare reports for field superintendents, project managers and subcontractors detailing compliant and non-compliant quality conditions

• Assists with the documentation of quality related information

• May conduct basic constructability reviews under direct supervision

• May help schedule and witness third party compliance inspections and performance verification testing

• May assist in coordinating other JE Dunn teams, including VDC, Quality Group, Safety, Offsite prefabrication, and Self-Perform

• Proficiency in MS Office

• Ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications

• Proficiency in basic JE Dunn construction M/E tools and software

• Knowledge of the means and methods of construction management

• Knowledge of quality management systems, standards and methodologies

• Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills

• Ability to become familiar with relevant industry regulations and standards

• Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management or related field (Required)

• In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

Experience

• 0-2 years construction experience and/or summer internship/co-op experience in construction (Preferred)

Working Environment

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

• Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet business needs

• May require periods of overnight travel

• Normal office environment, but may be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold)
