Job summary

PSD Scotland is seeking a Quality Specialist to strengthen clinical safety of IT solutions within Digital & Security, and to implement and maintain a quality management system.

The post offers hybrid working across Edinburgh or Glasgow sites with 36 hours per week. Applicants must live in the UK with entitlement to work, and closing date is 22 September 2026.

On 1 April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) became one national organisation, focused on continuity today and a stronger, more connected service for tomorrow. As part of this transformation, NSS and NES have joined to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long‑term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.

About The Organisation

PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future. We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.

The Post

The core purpose of the Digital & Security organisation is the provision of world class Digital and Security expertise, solutions and services to our customers, which include PSDS, NHS Boards, Scottish Government and the wider Public Sector in Scotland. Scotland's Digital Health and Care Strategy makes a commitment to develop and embed a standards based approach to clinical and care safety cases for all major systems. With the resulting increased demand for clinical assurance on a range of new IT solutions, an exciting opportunity has been created to strengthen our Quality Team.

The Candidate

As a Quality Specialist you will play a critical role in enhancing the clinical safety of a range of IT solutions being developed/supported by Digital & Security as well as implementing and maintaining a quality management system.

Location and Working Pattern:

This post can be based at Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow or any other PSD Scotland site.

Currently hybrid working.

The work pattern is Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK and have entitlement to work in the UK for the post in which you will be employed.
