Your role will be to:
- Perform a variety of inspections following standards, recognized procedures and policies utilizing the appropriate inspection equipment. Perform gage califbration using specific equipment to determine the accuracy of inspection, test and assembly equipment.
- Must have a high initiative to work independently, often on mulitple projects at one time to maintain flow of parts based on production and assembly requirements.
- Act as liaison between Machine Shop, Assembly, Engineering and Purchasing and/or the Vendors as to the disposition of parts, workmanship and engineering issues.
- Work directly with Engineering on a wide variety of issues including correcting print errors. Work directly with Manufacturing Engineering to engineer, improve, including adding operations and quality checks to complete cost effective routings.
- Cooridnate with Machine Shop and Assembly employees to resolve problems with, parts, setups, routings and quality issues. Recomment to the Machine Shop employees the direction or amount of stock to remove.
- Train employees in the operation of inspection equipment, print and chart interpretation, and the basics of quality.
- Initiate the NCR (Non-Conformance Report) process and make final determination of allocation of responsibilities on NCR's.
- Mantain work areas in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Perform other related work dutties as assigned.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone who has an Associate’s Degree, or 2-6 years related experience in quality.
- Have a working knowledge of CMM operation and software, air bearing table and software, bore and snap gaes, digital height gage, hardness testing equipment, autocollimators, electronic levels, profilometres, micrometers, calipers and other various electronic and hand gages to inspect parts for tolerances, specifications, finish and material requirements, workmanship and subassemblies as required by the operation sheets, instructions, prints, etc.
- Have a working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 standards, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, ISO procedures, gage calibration.
